Authentic Chinese prepared by experienced chef using local produce and healthy oils compared to some other similar restaurants. Service overall was good, but if you are in a hurry or go later than 730pm expect waiting or declined to sit.
View on GoogleAn authentic Chinese restaurant you wouldn't imagine from its exterior (sorry!). There are plenty of half-size portions (though they're enough for 2 people to share as small bites), and I was very satisfied. Most customers order these half-size portions, so service can sometimes be a little slow, but I think the value for money and flavor outweigh that. 大海老のチリソース was particularly satisfying.
View on GoogleA restaurant where the chef, said to have trained extensively in Shanghai after graduating from university, showcases his skills. It operates quietly in the basement of a building just outside 青梅街道駅 station. The restaurant doesn't stand out from outside, but inside there are rows of round tables typical of a Chinese restaurant. Apparently, it has built up a record of achievements, including winning the grand prize in Kodaira City's local gourmet contest. The food has a nostalgic, old-fashioned Chinese flavor. Unusually for a Chinese restaurant, it focuses on health and reportedly uses black vinegar, cane sugar, sun-dried salt, and locally grown vegetables from Kodaira. A conveniently located restaurant near the station where you can easily enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine.
View on GoogleSince you can't tell what the restaurant is like from outside, I thought it was an ordinary Chinese eatery, but it actually serves very authentic Chinese cuisine. The prices are good value too. It's spacious inside and has parking. Recommended.
View on GoogleThe exterior makes it a little intimidating to enter, and from the storefront and restaurant name I'd always assumed it was run by someone from mainland China, but the chef is Japanese and trained at hotels in China and elsewhere. All the tables are round, so I feel a little apologetic coming alone, but there are plenty of solo diners too. 自家製チャーシューとレタスの炒飯 700円 Large portion +100円 長江五目麺 800円 All the dishes are as reasonably priced as those at a neighborhood Chinese eatery, but the flavors are authentic Chinese, seasoned to suit Japanese tastes. The finely chopped homemade char siu in the fried rice and the well-stir-fried, well-seasoned toppings in the gomoku noodles are very delicious. There are many repeat customers, and it fills up quickly at lunchtime even on weekdays.
