A luxury passenger train just sitting there intact in a park—it felt way more out-of-the-ordinary than I imagined… Both the dining car and the lounge car have really beautiful interiors, and outside the windows is the park's greenery. I could enjoy my meal at a relaxed pace, and it felt like I spent a special time. I want to go again~

The atmosphere of the private room was simply the best. It's a calm space where you can leisurely enjoy a full course. Each dish was carefully and thoughtfully prepared, and very delicious. On top of that, I was moved that this precious railcar, once used as a special train for the "Sleeper Limited Express Hokutosei," has been restored and preserved this beautifully and is actually being used as a dining space. The atmosphere and feel of that era have been carefully preserved, and as a railway fan it's a truly delightful space. I felt real value in the fact that they've kept it not "just on display," but in a form you can actually experience. Even the feature that lets you select music exclusively for the private room has been properly restored, and it was wonderful to savor the special feel of that era down to the smallest details. It balanced the appeal of a railcar with the comfort of a restaurant. I recommend it not only for railway lovers, but also for anyone who wants to enjoy a meal with a special feel.

The luxury passenger train "Yume Kukan" that ran across Japan after JR was established. Not only the restaurant—the lounge car has also opened as a café. After eating in the dining car, I went straight on to have some tea. . The Sayama Japanese black tea (550 yen) I ordered has a comforting flavor with a gentler aroma than regular black tea. The blueberry tart (770 yen) apparently uses blueberry jam made in Kiyose. . And above all, this space! A lounge with Orient Express–like elegance, and the chairs are super comfortable. There's even a bar counter and a piano—an atmosphere that makes you want to stay forever. To think this used to run all over the country… how dreamy . You can spend time in this lovely space for just the price of tea, and apparently you can eat light meals like curry even without a reservation. I have a feeling there'll be lines before long… ====================================== The luxury passenger train "Yume Kukan" that ran all over Japan after JR was established. It has been revived as a restaurant in a park in Kiyose City. . The dining car has 22 seats in total, including the private room. It has a bubble-era heaviness and retro feel, with a calmness different from today's luxury trains. There's lots of gold decoration too, truly luxurious. Apparently the car body was built by Tokyu Car Corporation and the interior was done by Tokyu Department Store. . I ordered the beef stew set. A hearty onion soup packed with ingredients and a salad of Kiyose-grown vegetables. The beef stew, which they say is a revived recipe, has fall-apart tender meat and a solid portion. The stew's complex umami is so delicious. I finished with blancmange and coffee, leisurely savoring this space. . It's strange for it to be a passenger car that doesn't move, but it does give you a sense of travel. Even the slightly strong air conditioning feels like an old passenger car, which adds charm. Makes me want to go on a trip

As someone who knew it back when it was kept in Shin-Misato, I'm truly grateful they restored it this well. The food and atmosphere are the best, and even the sound of the air conditioning fan is pleasant, making you feel like you're traveling by train. Both the dining car and the lounge are one of a kind; I want to come again.

For a high-school train otaku living in Kanto, Blue Trains are already something pretty far removed, but when this place became a hot topic I really wanted to go. One car is reservation-only + dinner course only, but the other car is open until 9 at night, and prices are a reasonable 1000 yen or a bit more, close to a family restaurant. Since it was a weekday just after 3:00, there was no line; you ring the bell placed out front to check in. Ordering is quick, but all 3 menu items are stewed dishes, so it takes a while to arrive. I ordered the baked curry. The taste is, well, pretty much what you all know, but I think it's probably tastier than back in the dining car days. Above all, eating in this atmosphere is the best.
