A shop above a narrow staircase, today is my second visit. While elderly locals are relaxing, because it's lunchtime, there were also people who looked like office workers. The pizza toast with plenty of toppings, the doneness of the bread is perfect, the surface is crispy, the inside is fluffy. The coffee is also strong and delicious. The price was also discounted as a set. I'd like to visit again if I have the chance.

I was sucked into an atmosphere that looked very Showa. Inside, it was unexpectedly crowded, and it seemed difficult as it was managed by one elderly woman. I ordered curry rice for 750 yen. When asked about a drink, I said water is fine. Even though I said water is fine, suddenly the staff came bringing iced coffee and asked 'not iced, but hot?'. If it were a free service, I would accept it, but it seems it's just '100 yen off drinks for food orders', so I said I didn't order it, and she immediately withdrew and shoved the bill into the bill holder. That means, she indeed wanted to add the drink cost and close the bill. If she had asked again after the meal like 'would you like a drink?', I wouldn't think anything of it, but bringing something I didn't order and trying to add it to the bill amount is very unpleasant. Even if it were a free service, I wouldn't know if she didn't ask 'this is a free service, would you like to drink it?'. There won't be a second visit.

Very close to Kiyose Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line, a hybrid store with Chinese on the 1st floor and a coffee shop on the 2nd floor. After 11:00, you can order the Chinese menu from the 1st floor, so you can have a hearty lunch while taking a coffee break! After climbing the somewhat steep, narrow stairs, you arrive at an interior that feels Showa retro. It seems several women run this shop, and the woman I thought was a customer just now suddenly put on an apron and started serving. This sense of freedom also feels like a Showa coffee shop, which is nice. The menu is orthodox coffee shop style, with the aforementioned Chinese menu mixed in, making me confused about what to choose. I chose the Taiwan Mazesoba with iced coffee without hesitation, and my companion chose Napolitan after thinking. Taiwan Mazesoba is an authentic style with garlic, onions, green onions, and chives that add a punch of flavor. After mixing it well and eating it, it wasn't as oily as I thought, but rather mild and easy to eat. Since the meat miso and green onions remain at the bottom of the bowl, I finished it with rice as a final touch. 90% full, I left room for a classic pudding as dessert. The pudding is the hard type that is popular these days. The faint bitterness of the caramel gives it an adult taste. Outside, in the middle of the scorching heat over 30 degrees in the morning, the strong iced coffee drunk in the air-conditioned coffee shop is truly delicious. Napolitan, which I tasted a little, is the taste of mother's cooking. In the past, every weekend I used to enjoy a breakfast set at a nearby coffee shop in my pajamas. I wanted a coffee shop like this near my house. Kuwacchisabitan (thank you for the meal)

The hard pudding that feels nostalgic is very delicious. You can also order ramen etc. from Sousuke on the first floor, and you can drink coffee after the meal leisurely without having to move. The atmosphere is retro and the staff is friendly, this is my favorite shop. I haven't had a chance to try the sandwiches and Napolitan that appear every other week, so I want to try them next time.

Retro coffee shop in front of Kiyose Station To the left of the entrance of Ramen Sousuke, there is a steep staircase that quietly goes up to the 2nd floor. This coffee shop serves some of Sousuke's menu on the 1st floor. It's great to be able to eat the ramen shop's menu leisurely at a coffee shop. I ate Taiwan Mazesoba, Gyoza, and Karadama Fried Rice. Everything was delicious. When I visited in the morning, the ramen shop's menu couldn't be ordered yet, so I ate Pizza Toast. This is also a standard delicacy. Curry rice is also popular, but it is said that this is also made at the ramen shop. But it seems it's only served at the coffee shop, so next time I want to try the curry rice. Please note that ramen menu orders can only be made from 11 o'clock.
