「二葉寿司」 is a sushi shop run by a married couple. The chef is over 80 and told me himself, “This might be the oldest sushi shop in Kiyose.” His wife, who supports him, also provides gentle service, and the relaxed atmosphere is comfortable, so I keep returning. There are 3 tables for 4 people in a raised seating area (horigotatsu-style), although one is sometimes used for storing their household belongings. There are also 5〜6 counter seats, making it a small but relaxing shop. The selection of sushi toppings is not particularly extensive, but it is one of my favorite places to enjoy properly made sushi with confidence. I hesitated a little over the atmosphere rating. The interior is quiet, with little more than a television on. It is certainly not glamorous, but it is comfortable and lets you enjoy sushi without feeling self-conscious. Giving it 2 stars felt a little wrong, and I could even see giving it 4 or 5. That simplicity is actually its charm, and I find myself returning again and again.

The food is seriously delicious. And the owner is really kind. We had the best sushi dinner here! Small place, but the owners are a couple who were so kind and gracious to us (even though we didn’t know much Japanese). Very affordable but also great quality sushi. Definitely will remember our night here!

When I called, they had already closed before 20. I think it is best to contact them in advance. I have never managed to get inside the shop.
