「焼鳥たなべ」 is on the way from Higashi-Jujo Station toward Jujo Station Run by a husband and wife, it has only 8 counter seats The yakitori the husband carefully grills over charcoal is superb With only 8 seats, some regulars line up before opening, and it often fills up immediately after opening They don't accept advance reservations, so you have to visit directly Usually, the quiet husband steadily does the grilling while his cheerful wife takes orders and handles service, chatting with regulars and creating a lovely atmosphere for enjoying the food. But sometimes there are rude customers acting like regulars, being incredibly inconsiderate and selfish, saying unbelievable things like “I'll eat everything that's left, so grill it all” without thinking of other customers, talking loudly nonstop and then lingering even when people are waiting, ruining an otherwise enjoyable meal It's unfortunate that if you encounter customers like that, all you can say is that you were unlucky It's a wonderful place to enjoy delicious food and drinks, so I wish customers would mind their manners too
View on GoogleThe yakitori grilled by the quiet owner had a crisp texture and was light and easy to enjoy Drinking while watching his skillful hands was a lovely way to spend time. His wife was friendly too, so I could relax even on my first visit Next time I'd like to try the oyakodon the regulars were ordering A homey, reasonably priced, delicious yakitori place
View on GoogleIt seems to be run by an elderly couple. The food doesn't arrive quickly, but that's part of its charm. The yakitori is by far the best around here. Please give it a visit. I recommend hot sake for the coming season.
View on GoogleA place I found in Jujo that I don't really want to tell others about High quality, run by an elderly couple The yakitori is grilled to perfection—crispy outside, juicy inside, and the liver melts in your mouth The grilled vegetables are delicious too; the mountain yam with yuzu kosho was seriously good, and so was the grilled eggplant The chicken-bone soup to finish has a gentle flavor And it's great value too, even though I ordered quite a lot Enough to make me think, wow, is it really okay to charge so little? I've found an incredible place Thank you for the meal, I'll be back
View on GoogleThe restaurant is right halfway between 十条駅 on the JR埼京線 and 東十条駅 on the 京浜東北線, about 4 minutes from either station. If I say it’s along 演芸場通り, quite a few people will probably know where I mean. That day, I arrived at exactly 5 p.m.... The place was still closed when I arrived. I was taking photos when the owner suddenly came out and startled me lol (see photo). For a moment I thought he’d yell, “What are you taking pictures for!!” But nothing like that happened, so I was relieved (haha). Look for the little sign (?) beside the entrance. Without it, you’d never realize this was a yakitori restaurant. Inside, it feels like a kappo or sushi restaurant, with a very upscale atmosphere. There are only 8 counter seats. It seems to be run by a husband and wife. The food menu doesn’t list prices. Being handed a menu without prices in a place with such a fancy vibe would normally make you nervous, right? (haha) But don’t worry. To jump to the conclusion, the yakitori was high-end restaurant quality, but the bill was relatively inexpensive... The drinks do have clearly listed prices. ◆What we had this time ・『生ビール(550円)』 Unfortunately, they don’t have ホッピー here. (ホッピーミーナ was a little disappointed...) ・『お通し』 The appetizer was cabbage topped with whitebait, sesame oil, and salt. Simple, but surprisingly tasty. ・『とりわさ(price unknown)』 The briefly blanched chicken tenderloin was medium rare. It came with mizuna. It already had ponzu on it, so it was ready to eat as is. ( ̄ ̄)b ・『心臓(price unknown)』 What’s commonly called “はつ.” The grilling really was spot-on. And the wasabi on top went surprisingly well with it♪ ・『かしわ(price unknown)』 This is chicken thigh. There’s a little skin attached, which was crispy and delicious. Maybe because it’s grilled over binchotan charcoal, it had a lovely charcoal aroma too. ・『つくね(price unknown)』 I asked for this one grilled with tare sauce. Apparently, if you leave it up to the chef, everything comes seasoned with salt... Along with ground chicken, the mixture contains pepper, shiso, and ginger. The concentrated meaty flavor was really nice. The sauce was lightly flavored and thin, perhaps to avoid overpowering the ingredients. ・『すきみ(price unknown)』 This is meat from around the chicken’s neck, called “せせり” or “小肉” at some restaurants. It’s a lovely fatty, delicious cut~♪ ヾ( ´ー`)/ Wow~, so juicy. ・『ジャガバター(price unknown)』 Grilling potatoes over charcoal makes even the skin crisp and fragrant. And the inside was fluffy and piping hot (haha). Potatoes and butter are the ultimate combination~ ・『鶏ガラだし(complimentary)』 At the end, they served us a rich chicken soup on the house. This was incredibly delicious too♪ O(≧▽≦)O I’m certain it would be delicious with ramen noodles in it. It might also make a good zosui... So, all that food and drink came to about 3 thousand yen per person. By the way, this restaurant only opens Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, and doesn’t accept reservations. So to be sure of getting in, you pretty much have to arrive right when it opens.
