Every table has a grill that automatically rotates the skewers, and grilling lamb skewers on it is just so much fun! By the way, all the skewers are spicy, so I wouldn’t recommend them for kids. They’re really delicious, though. However, when we went on Sunday, we were told all the meat had sold out after we’d only had a few skewers each, which left us feeling seriously unsatisfied. So, 3 stars.

The lamb skewers are superb. The spices you dip the skewers in are delicious.

The restaurant’s name is pronounced Shinmijou. It serves northeastern Chinese cuisine. The grilled skewers taste similar to those I ate on a previous trip to northeastern China, and their distinctive spice flavor is delicious. I felt they packed slightly less punch than the ones there, but if you think of it as being adapted a little for Japan, it doesn’t feel out of place at all. I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants Chinese cuisine rather than Japanese-style Chinese food.
