I didn't feel like taking my phone out for translation on the first 2 floors i went to (2nd-3rd) which was about modern paper making, and then a hands on education floor. But the 4th floor on Washi and Culture, was amazing. There was a wonderful origami exhibit by master artist, Akira Yoshizawa. One of the displays took woodblock print illustrations about washi making and made paper sculptures from them. The poetry calligraphy on paper was beautiful.
View on GoogleIt’s not a big museum but I learned a lot here. Tickets is 400¥ for adults for unlimited time to spend in the museum. Coin locker is available on the ground floor for free. Library is located on the basement floor but its opening hours are quite limited. I visited there on Thursday, and it was closed unfortunately.
View on GoogleOne of the museums located in Asukayama Park. There were 4 floors in the Museum. A small special exhibit was also available on the 4th Floor. It was really interesting to learn about the history of Paper & how it is made. The staffs here were nice too. A great place to visit when in Asukayama Park.
View on GoogleGoing to this museum is a must. It educates you on the different uses of paper, how it's made, how to reduce, reuse and recycle. Very educational. If you're staying in Akabane, Kita City ride the Keihin-Tohoku Line Platform 1 and it is just 2 stops. Lots of stairs going to the place tho but the park is massive and peaceful, chill. If you are collecting stamps you can just ask the info desk inside the museum. The entrace is also cheap at 400 Yen.
View on GoogleVery cool museum. The staff are extremely helpful, especially with foreigners. They have an app with all the translated exhibit yet so you don't miss a beat if you don't speak the language. Great place to visit for some real Japanese history!
