Cosy place, good food and fast service during the day. There was no English available and the staff didn’t speak any English either. It was very cheap though for a good quality
View on GoogleIt’s near the station and my home. It’s very affordable. I enjoyed eating a meal here and I want to go again when I crave for tempura.
View on Google(English version below) The portions are moderate, the food is quite delicious, and there are many options. Both the fried shrimp and raw tuna chunks have the natural sweetness of fresh seafood. The grilled pork is seasoned with ginger, bringing out the pork's aroma without being greasy. Although deep-fried, vegetables such as eggplant and sweet potato in the vegetable tempura retain their moisture and natural fragrance. However, the portion is large, so sharing is recommended. The crispy fried octopus goes very well with rice and also makes an excellent accompaniment to drinks. The service is extremely friendly, but this is a local restaurant: staff can communicate only in Japanese, and the menu is also Japanese-only. The atmosphere is comfortable, and most diners are locals. Smoking is allowed inside, with ashtrays on the tables, so people sensitive to smells or averse to cigarette smoke should consider this beforehand. The restaurant accepts cash only and does not offer self-service ordering. You need to order from staff, so you can prepare a translation in advance. The food here is delicious with a great variety of options. The portions are just right, and you can really taste the natural sweetness of the fresh seafood in the fried shrimp and raw tuna chunks. The grilled pork has a wonderful ginger seasoning that enhances the flavor without being too heavy. I was also impressed by the vegetable tempura; even after frying, the eggplant and sweet potato stayed juicy and flavorful. It’s a large portion, though, so it’s best for sharing! The fried octopus is another highlight, it goes perfectly with rice or as a snack with drinks. The service is incredibly warm and friendly. However, keep in mind this is a local spot, the staff only speak Japanese and the menu is Japanese-only. The atmosphere is cozy and mostly filled with locals. Note that smoking is allowed inside, and there are ashtrays on the tables, so you might want to reconsider if you are sensitive to smoke. Also, it’s cash only and there’s no self-ordering system, so you’ll need to order with the staff (having a translation app ready is a good idea!).
View on GoogleI visited for lunch. The exterior and interior have a Showa-era feel. The menu had set meals, snacks, and alcohol. Since I came to eat today, I first ordered the tempura set meal. Apparently you can get a large serving of rice for free. They said miso soup refills are available too. It was quite tasty. Not just the set meals—everything is basically inexpensive. Next time I think I will take my time enjoying drinks with snacks and tempura. Smoking is allowed, so be aware if that bothers you.
View on GoogleWhy is its rating so low? A puzzling place. It made me realize that getting hung up on Google Maps ratings can make you miss good places. Dinner was a tempura set meal and a large bottled beer. The otoshi served with the beer was already fantastic. The tempura was wonderfully crisp and freshly fried. It was Sunday evening, and there seemed to be many regulars. Many were drinking while chatting with the efficient lady owner. It was also fun watching the chef-owner work while getting mildly scolded by her. I would love to go again.
