Small shop with bar seating—clean, intimate, and the staff were warm, interactive, and attentive. I ordered the shrimp cold ramen and the summer-limited spicy pork dry noodles. The shrimp ramen stood out—Japanese–French fusion done right. The broth was rich in flavor but surprisingly fresh, with cold shrimp oil that didn’t feel greasy. Really well-balanced. The summer-limited noodles were solid—good texture, flavor on point—but didn’t quite stand out next to their signature cold ramen. A great spot if you're bored of the usual pork, soy, or miso bases. Perfect for summer. I came right when they opened—no wait—but a line had already formed by the time I left.
View on GoogleAlthough it is not too close to the closest train station (JR Higashi-Jujo), there was already a long queue when I arrived 10 minutes before the opening time on a Sunday morning. As its name suggests, the shop is most renowned for its French-infused type of ramen. Ordered the “light carbonara” ramen, which consists of an amorous fish soup topped with cheese to resemble the flavour of carbonara. The oyster sauce aedama (noodles refill with sauce and toppings) is also tasty and adds a different layer of complexity to the ramen. (For more, see Instagram: Gaga.bichon)
View on GoogleA quaint little ramen shop with a counter-only setup, which means seating is limited and queues are almost always expected. Despite its size, the space feels warm and cozy, creating an intimate dining atmosphere. The staff and chef are also notably friendly and attentive, adding a welcoming touch to the experience. I ordered the sardine-based ramen, and it delivered a beautifully balanced bowl. The broth carried a clean, lightly briny aroma, with a delicate umami drawn from the sardines. On the palate, it was light yet flavorful, offering depth without heaviness—making it easy to enjoy from start to finish. The simplicity of the dish works in its favor, allowing the natural flavors to shine without unnecessary complexity. A small but memorable spot—cozy, well-executed, and worth the wait for a refined, lighter style of ramen.
