香港屋 is about an 8-minute walk from the north exit of Jujo Station This neighborhood Chinese restaurant is run by the owner and his wife from 中華邸, which closed due to redevelopment of the Jujo Station rotary. Lunch is bustling even on weekdays, and the restaurant is known for its great value, generous portions, and delicious food! Lunch in particular is filling, letting you eat your fill for under 1,000円 (at night, rice set meals cost an extra 100円 and noodle sets an extra 50円). You can also get a large serving of rice, making it perfect for hungry students and office workers, and it's loved by many locals. The bargain 1,210円 set also includes 1 drink and 2 regular-sized dishes called small plates—unbeatable value! I often order the chashu and fried shrimp (tempura)! Best of all, the family set for 4〜6 people costs 6,468円 total (sorry if I'm wrong), but comes with 12 dishes, leaving you so stuffed you can't finish without taking some home. An amazing course! ※Food only, and advance reservations are required! We always order this course when the whole family gets together! For lunch that day, I ordered the daily special fried rice and half ramen set, plus pan-fried gyoza! (They even gave me a large serving of the special fried rice on the house) The authentic, slightly spicy fried rice and homemade gyoza were really delicious! The flavor and value are great, of course, but the best thing about this restaurant is the wife's kind, exceptionally cheerful service and the personality of the earnest, kind owner quietly cooking upstairs on the 2nd floor. Of course I'll be back!
View on GoogleDelicious! And cheap!! I regret walking past every day! There are only tables for 4 and tables for 2. Recommended for visiting with others too. The exterior makes quite an impression, but inside it's clean, and the table seating makes it comfortable◎ The drink + appetizer + main set is cheap and recommended👍 The proprietress's service is wonderful. A fantastic restaurant you'll definitely return to after trying it once!
View on GoogleThe restaurant is quite cramped, but compared with typical Chinese-run Chinese restaurants, the interior was fairly neat and clean. The mapo ramen and half fried rice set was quite cheap at 850円, so I was worried about the taste, but the noodles were slightly thick, and the mapo tofu was sweet-spicy and easy to enjoy. It was the best I've had among places of this kind. It was past noon on a weekday, but customers kept coming and going, so I thought it must be popular in the neighborhood.
View on Google3 dishes and 1 beer for 2100円 is good value. It's not amazingly delicious, but it's more than good enough for a neighborhood Chinese restaurant, and the interior is clean too. The service is good as well, so it's understandable that it's packed even on Sunday evenings. It also works very well◎ as an izakaya. A large fried rice for an extra 100円 is an enormous amount, so I think the regular size is fine.
View on GoogleThere are 7 tables on the 1st floor, creating a lively atmosphere. The menu is extensive and the prices are reasonable. PayPay is also accepted. This time I ordered 「麻辣牛肉刀削麺」, 「特製チャーハン」, 「自家製焼き小籠包」, 「トマトと玉子炒め」, and more. The 麻辣牛肉刀削麺 offered the enjoyable, distinctive texture of hand-shaved noodles, with addictive spicy mala broth and the numbing sensation of Sichuan pepper. The beef had deep umami too, and the fragrance of the spices whetted the appetite. The 特製チャーハン clearly brought out the savory flavors of its ingredients, with an impressively balanced taste. The 自家製焼き小籠包 were packed with meat juices, with outstanding harmony between wrapper and filling. Delicious on their own, and even more savory with dipping sauce. The トマトと玉子炒め was simple, but the tomato's acidity and the egg's sweetness were perfectly balanced, making it comfortingly delicious. The energetic, courteous service was memorable too—a highly satisfying restaurant with a good balance of food and service.
