We ordered Negi Ramen for the first time while passing by. I asked for less spicy, but it was spicy! The restaurant was quite busy, and by the time we finished eating, there was a line waiting for their turn... We were told to leave after eating.
View on GoogleWhat I ordered: ・Fried rice ¥880 ・Gyoza ¥630 _________ _________ ________ 吾作 is back! 吾作 sadly closed at the end of last year. It was already closed when I last planned to visit, and I really regretted it, but when I heard it had reopened, I had to go✊ Eating fried rice and gyoza at 吾作 makes me feel like I'm back home in Akabane〜. So comforting. The gyoza wrappers are thick and chewy. The fried rice has big pieces of beaten egg and a perfect sheen. Add a strong highball, and I love everything about it. _________ _________ ________
View on GoogleVisited at lunchtime. You can enjoy neighborhood Chinese food. ・Lunch set (ramen, half fried rice) Apparently, depending on the set contents, your order may be pushed back. The ramen is average; the fried rice is good. I think it's a serious issue that the poor kitchen operations are so visible.
View on GoogleTHE quintessential neighborhood Chinese restaurant! I ordered a set! Piping-hot green pepper and meat stir-fry over rice, plus ramen! It was really delicious! The staff member who seemed to be the owner? gave wonderful service too, making me want to visit again!
View on GoogleLunchtime on a day off. I'd decided this would be a day of doing nothing, so I headed to Akabane for a leisurely beer at a neighborhood Chinese restaurant. The shop is just under a 10-minute walk from Akabane Station's east exit, along Akabane Ichibangai. I take this road when driving to 角上 in Akabane, so I knew the shop existed. This was my long-awaited first visit. I arrived just after opening at 11, and there were no other customers yet. But people kept coming in afterward. It's a popular place. First I ordered bottled beer and gyoza, enjoying the beer with the pickled cucumber served as an appetizer. Why does beer taste so good during the day? It really hits the spot. The gyoza arrived. Beautifully browned, with plenty of filling and crispy wrappers. These really keep the beer flowing—or rather, they made me think I could order another plate. When I moved on to my second beer, I ordered chukadon. I'd wanted ramen, but I'd had ramen yesterday, so today I felt like rice. And when it comes to rice dishes at Chinese restaurants, I tend to order chukadon. I waited for it while drinking my second beer. The chukadon had plenty of vegetables, meat, and shrimp covered in a thick, silky sauce. This was delicious chukadon. I ate it with my remaining beer and finished everything in no time. Thanks for the meal. P.S. I visited this shop on 10/19 (Sunday). I learned it would close a week later, on 10/26 (Sunday). From what I heard, it was due to “the owner's poor health.” Older reviews say an elderly owner worked in the kitchen, but on this day there were 2 young men in the kitchen and 1 female staff member in the dining area. It was disappointing to hear about the closure just after thinking I'd found a great neighborhood Chinese restaurant.
