A neighborhood Chinese diner where you can eat authentic fried rice recognized by Yangzhou, China, its birthplace Right by the station; the 2nd floor has round tables and can host banquets. The authentic Yangzhou fried rice is in a premium price range, just under 2000 yen! Makes sense, since it uses luxury ingredients like scallops, sea cucumber, and Jinhua ham, and you can taste an umami that's different from salt or MSG. The finish leans toward fluffy and separate. The other specialty is gomoku umani soba. This too has seafood and big shiitake mushrooms; it's fairly pricey, but you can tell they use good ingredients generously. And it's quite a big portion. The gyoza are juicy too! Of course there are also budget-friendly menu items. I was able to pay with PayPay.

Daikichi Hanten's gomoku umani soba is delicious as always. It's loaded with seafood and vegetables, and the noodles and broth are great too. The shrimp, squid, and vegetables seem to be flash-fried, and the thick sauce blends into a slightly sweet, mellow broth—you can't stop eating. The curly noodles themselves taste quite good and match this broth perfectly. We got a large serving of noodles and shared it as a family, very satisfying. The fried rice in the set is simple in flavor, but this too keeps your spoon moving. That day I wanted liver and garlic chives, so I got it as a set meal. It was my first time, and it's the classic stir-fried liver and garlic chives, seasoned to go perfectly with rice. The staff are kind and considerate, which feels very Jujo and leaves a good impression. Basically none of the menu items are misses, and there are plenty of snack dishes, so it's one of those good places you can use for drinks too.

Throwback photo upload (2021.09) The care in preparation you can tell from the gyoza, the high level of stir-frying skill you can tell from the fried rice, the depth of the broth you can tell from the ramen—I think it's a perfect Chinese restaurant that has it all.

My workplace has long been nearby, and on weekends there'd be a line outside, so I was curious. It's obviously a long-established place. Their signatures are the gomoku umani soba and Yangzhou fried rice, but since I love fried rice I was torn, but you can get it as a set with half fried rice, so I went with the umani soba. The fried rice looked delicious too‥ but it was a miss (ugh) Contrary to its looks, the flavor was weak‥ Oily‥ the bottom was mushy with grease‥ The gomoku umani soba tasted good, but if it's going to be this ankake-like, I'd have preferred the soup to be ankake-style too‥. It's a thin, light soup with ankake sitting on top. The balance is kind of off‥. And the noodles. Thin and soft. For this flavor you absolutely need thicker, ideally curly noodles. The flavor is similar to Shohei in Nishi-Shinjuku; their Canton noodles are exquisite. The slightly ankake-like soup and high-hydration noodles go together perfectly. Compared to that, the toppings here are definitely more luxurious, and the seasoning is almost the same. But personally, it loses on the soup and noodles. Even though the price is quite a bit higher‥. Well, maybe I expected too much from the gomoku umani soba; it actually gets a solid passing grade, I think. The fried rice was no good at all. With this, I won't be going back to try the Yangzhou fried rice next time‥ A bit disappointing.

\\ Gomoku umani soba, Jujo's specialty, at a long-established spot! // Apparently Jujo's soul food is 【gomoku umani soba】! I don't know the details, but famous stuff, recommended stuff, popular stuff—I wanna eat it! And I happen to love gomoku soba♡ Lunch at a long-established neighborhood Chinese diner right in front of Jujo Station! ○ What I ate ○ ⚪︎ Gomoku umani soba ¥1264 ⚪︎ Set fried rice ¥450 ⚪︎ Gyoza ¥380 These are pre-tax prices, so.. the total was ¥2314! Pricey for a neighborhood Chinese diner!! I came for the gomoku, but, they say the gyoza is a popular item, and the fried rice is apparently the only one in Tokyo certified by Yangzhou!! I mean, I just had to eat them... Since I got the set, it came with a salad too! Maybe because it was a set with noodles, the fried rice didn't come with soup! (obviously lol) The dishware is so retro and cute♡ Love it! The fried rice is fluffy and separate. Tasty. The gyoza... are big. Lots of filling, veggie-heavy and light. Well, the gyoza weren't anything special; personally, the flavor didn't really grab me. Now, the gomoku umani soba!! Sooo good! Deliciouuus♡ The amount of toppings is insane! And they're, like, pan-fried? maybe? The squid and shrimp have a thin coating, and they're done in lots of oil, sizzle! So goooood! Two big shrimp, and the squid is scored like an octopus sausage—big but tender! The veggies are super crisp too! This is a flavor you can only get with Chinese-kitchen firepower! The noodles are ordinary, but they pick up the thick ankake soup as you slurp—the best! I gulped down the soup! Toward the end I added plenty of vinegar and chugged it! Now it's healthy♪ Packed with nutrition! I could pay with PayPay ☝︎*˖
