The place is a bit old, but the cuisine is great and for less than 1000 yen you will be completely full
View on GoogleI arrived just after 18, but there was already a line outside, so I had to wait a while before entering. The signature shrimp fried rice has a surprisingly generous portion even in the regular size. The towering serving is overwhelming the moment it arrives, making it ideal when you want to eat your fill. The shrimp on top were large and satisfyingly substantial too. The shredded pork and green peppers we ordered alongside it were expertly stir-fried, leaving just the right amount of texture in the vegetables. Inside was the lively atmosphere of an old-fashioned Chinese restaurant. Payment is cash only, so I recommend preparing cash beforehand if you usually pay cashless. A satisfying spot when you want a hearty Chinese meal.
View on GoogleAbout a 10-minute walk from Tabata Station, a place with the appearance of an unpretentious neighborhood Chinese restaurant. The specialty is shrimp fried rice absolutely loaded with shrimp, but personally I don't need quite that many shrimp, so I ordered “gomoku chahan.” They said large portions were temporarily unavailable because rice prices had soared. Then an enormous serving of fried rice arrived, making that concern unnecessary. The ingredients are lavish: shrimp, crab, chashu, egg, and green onion. The fried rice is midway between separate and moist, with every grain thoroughly coated in oil. There's a powerful aroma of soy sauce probably scorched against the wok, and the seasoning is slightly salty and moreish. Honestly, it was quite salty, and I wished there were a little more soup.
View on GoogleThe soup this time tasted a little indistinct—maybe because it was half ramen? Even the half ramen is about 2/3 of a portion. The half fried rice is a full serving by normal standards, and consistently delicious😋 Set ③ is half ramen+half fried rice+3 gyoza for 1100円 【Karaage set meal】 It's bursting with oil, but the nostalgic, delicious fried chicken makes even that lovable🐔 I've completely fallen under Shin Sanyo's spell. 【Found another legendary spot🎯】 They say you can add half fried rice to ramen for 250円, and for 750円 for ramen and fried rice, a proper full serving of fried rice arrived lol The ramen broth has a clear, well-defined flavor. I like these thin noodles too🍜 The fried rice is delicious as well! Even the tea is properly brewed from leaves and then chilled. That astringent tea with the extra effort put into it is lovely too. The karaage set the person next to me was eating looked delicious. Next time I want to try that too!
View on GoogleYou could call this a renowned neighborhood Chinese restaurant. The exterior wall, exposed when the neighboring building happened to be demolished, tells the history of this place (just to be clear, the interior is properly clean). Despite generous portions, prices are reasonable, and the cooking gets the basics right with flavors unlikely to divide opinion. The gyoza were large and very meaty. Even the half fried rice easily seems equivalent to a regular bowl of rice, and many women (quite a few seemed to visit alone) were taking unfinished food home in containers (apparently 10円 each). Since most of the cooking rests on the owner's shoulders, turnover probably isn't very fast right after opening (it fills up immediately), but once things settle down, it looked possible to get in without too much waiting. I hope this restaurant stays around forever.
