Authentic japanese ambience. Several elderly men cooked & served our meal. You can tell the meal's gonna be good by the way they cook. Serving was quick, food was delicious, staffs were friendly & price was affordable. Wishing good health for the elderly men & cashier lady!

A Chinese restaurant long loved by local customers and regulars returning from work, with nostalgic flavors that have remained unchanged since its founding. Its old-fashioned neighborhood Chinese restaurant atmosphere is part of its charm. Founded in Showa 38, this long-established restaurant has remained rooted in the community for many years even after moving to its current location. Its location in front of the station makes it easy to stop by for a bowl of ramen or a casual drink. Just outside the east exit of Komagome Station, near the entrance to Satsuki-dori, is the long-established neighborhood Chinese restaurant 中国料理 珍々亭. Its red exterior and old-fashioned sign are memorable, and many people may recognize it from the windows of Yamanote Line trains. Inside, rows of red tables create a Showa-era feel, and the unpretentious atmosphere is comfortable. The customers span a wide range, and the place has a strong local feel. ──── This time, 4 of us visited to finish the evening after drinking over yakiniku. Several groups who looked like regulars were already inside, conveying its enduring neighborhood popularity. Our timing was good, with almost no wait before we were shown to a table. Looking through the menu on the table, we mainly ordered neighborhood Chinese restaurant classics. ▪️Ramen 600円 The clear soy sauce broth is as light as it looks, but has a definite chicken-bone-based umami. Its flavor feels nostalgic, the kind you crave after drinking. It pairs well with the softer, medium-thin noodles, and the chashu and menma are classic too. A comforting bowl. ▪️Reba itame 800円 The liver has little unpleasant odor and a moist, tender texture. The bean sprouts and garlic chives are quickly stir-fried over high heat, retaining their crisp texture. The seasoning isn't too strong, and the fragrant soy-sauce-based flavor whets the appetite. A classic neighborhood Chinese restaurant dish. ▪️Gyoza Large, satisfying gyoza. The browned surface is fragrant, and the inside is juicy with plenty of vegetables. The wrappers are chewy, in the old-fashioned neighborhood Chinese restaurant style. The garlic isn't too strong, making them easy to enjoy. ──── The phrase "a neighborhood Chinese restaurant unchanged since the old days" fits perfectly. None of the dishes are unusual, but that gives them reassuring consistency and an appeal that makes you want to eat them every day. The service has the right degree of familiarity typical of a neighborhood Chinese restaurant, efficient even when busy, making it comfortable, and the prices are reasonable too. I'd especially recommend it to people who love old-fashioned soy sauce ramen, want comforting flavors rather than flashiness, or wish to enjoy the Showa-era atmosphere of a neighborhood Chinese restaurant.
