Visited the famous Unagi Uomasa in Yotsugi. I reserved through TableCheck and ordered the premium domestic brand eel. Since the eel is prepared after arrival, it took about 30 minutes to be served. The eel liver with wasabi and crispy bone crackers were a nice starter while waiting. The eel was fluffy and tender, with elegant charcoal aroma. The sauce was light and refined, highlighting the natural flavor of the eel. Personally, I prefer a slightly richer sauce, but the craftsmanship was excellent.
View on GoogleSome of the best unagi I’ve ever eaten! My meal started off with an appetizer of the eel spine, which had been deep fried and had a nice crunch, along with boiled eel’s liver, which was eaten with soy sauce and wasabi. The liver didn’t have a strong taste and had a bounce/chewiness and texture similar to abalone, but softer. The unadon was simply superb and among the best I’ve ever eaten! The eel was rich, buttery, and melted in the mouth. It was grilled to perfection with a nice char on the outside, and you could taste the chargrilled flavor. It was also seasoned perfectly. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. An excellent meal.
View on GoogleSurrounded by Captain Tsubasa (Soccer Boy) statues, Yotsugi Station is home to “Unagi Uomasa,” ranked third on Tabelog. Established in 1980, this eel specialty restaurant serves carefully reserved domestic eel that is incredibly satisfying. When it comes to must-try unagi rice in Tokyo, besides “Obana,” this place definitely deserves a spot on the list as well.
View on GoogleThe best unagi I ever had. Smokey flavor, caramelized crunch outside and pillow soft inside. Would definitely recommend and would come again!
View on GoogleWe reserved the set dinner through TableCheck. You chose to have the wild eel (limited offering) or farmed eel when making reservations, and we opted for the farmed one in view of the almost double price of the wild one🤑. Among various famous grilled eel restaurants we had tried before, the eels served by うなぎ魚政 were remarkable. Different from those with crispy skin, the eels were kept with really soft and humid texture. Although we didn't try the wild eel, we would say the farmed ones were still served at a very very high standard. If you would like to have grilled eels at there, it is highly recommend to order set dinner which in addition to appetizer and dessert, includes both the traditional grilled eel rice and kurikarayaki (also grilled eel with different flavors, in fact we loved this more than the traditional one) which you should try at Tokyo🤤
