【First comment, May 2023】 When it was still bitterly cold, I visited 『五九一』 in front of the station. I love their 「鴨焼」 more than anything! Because it’s delicious! As my special once-a-year treat to myself, I chew slowly and savor it, and beyond that comes the climax lol

A soba shop right near 堀切菖蒲園 Station. It’s been around a long time and is quite old and atmospheric. I visited once recently, and it’s a little pricier than other soba shops. Apparently there’s seating on the 2nd floor, but I haven’t been up there, so I don’t know; the table seats accommodate about 16 people. As for the taste, it isn’t bad, but there would be little difference if it were placed alongside boiled store-bought dried noodles. The dipping broth is ordinary, too. As others have written, dishes are basically sold individually with no set menus, so it’s unsuitable for people wanting to try lots of different flavors. Their personalities aren’t bad, but anyone particular about service might not like it. For better or worse, it’s an old-fashioned soba shop rooted in the local community. If going with friends or acquaintances, I personally think nearby places like 「人と木」 are better, though a little expensive, because they have more atmosphere and a clean storefront.

I had カツ丼（980円）, but frankly it was no different from supermarket ones..
