I had the iriko soba with thin noodles. It was delicious. The classic soy sauce-based broth had a lovely dried-fish flavor and paired well with the thin noodles. The hand揉揉ed noodles my companion had were delicious, so I'd like to try those next time. It's a place I'd be happy to have near home. It was quiet at 1930 on Saturday, so I got in right away.

A ramen shop along Mito Kaido. If you're driving, there's parking (30 minutes 200円) at the nearby FamilyMart. I'd looked it up on Google Maps beforehand and wanted to try the iriko soba. I was the first customer, just after 11 on a weekday. Inside, there was a faint dried-fish aroma. You choose at the ticket machine and hand over your meal ticket. I chose the special iriko soba and the limited-edition squid aedama. Tell them verbally whether you want hand揉揉ed noodles or thin noodles. Since there's only counter seating, I thought there might be a wait at lunchtime, and the bowl arrived in about 5 minutes while I drank water. It was light, soy sauce-based dried-fish soba; the broth was delicious, and it was good overall. The aedama probably used dried-squid oil, but I couldn't really taste it. It seemed to have been sitting for a little while, and the noodles were sticking together, but I tried them as they were, then put the rest in the remaining broth and finished everything.

The limited-edition chilled soy milk tantanmen is ridiculously delicious! The regular special chuka is incredibly delicious too! The limited menu seems to feature other chilled dishes depending on the day, so checking Instagram before going is the safest bet! It's a little far from the station, but it's worth making a special trip!

Weekday lunch at 12:30 The shop was 8割 full I chose seasoned-egg shoyu ramen (hand揉揉ed noodles), wontons, and aedama (sansho). The broth is clean yet has a distinct, sharp soy sauce flavor and is delicious. The noodles are flat and hand揉揉ed, with a pleasantly springy texture, and very delicious. The noodles and broth go very well together. The seasoned egg is lightly seasoned, but the yolk has a rich flavor and is delicious. The chashu is large, thinly sliced, goes well with the ramen, and is delicious. The menma is tender bamboo-shoot tips and delicious, but I think regular menma would suit this ramen better. The wontons are shaped like teru teru bozu and delicious. The aedama uses thoroughly cooked thin noodles that stick together and are hard to eat, but the sansho aroma and flavor are excellent, making it more satisfying than the ramen. I'd like to try iriko soba next.

Whenever I stopped by Stern Katsushika, I'd look at the ramen shop that's been here for over 20 years; after frequent changes of shop, it finally seems to have settled down. This was my first visit, and the special shoyu ramen was delicious. It also feels cleaner than before. The shop was full, and I waited about 5 minutes. Thank you for the meal. The spot that's now FamilyMart used to be paid parking, but be aware that there are no parking lots nearby. If you don't want to wander around or worry about your car being vandalized or scratched, I recommend the Vinasis parking lot at Kanamachi's south exit.
