View on GoogleFirst visit on 20260527. Went to 葛飾区 to see the irises at 堀切菖蒲園. Since I was there, I wanted to try a neighborhood Chinese restaurant around 堀切菖蒲園駅, so I visited for lunch. It was well past lunchtime, so it was quiet, which was helpful. The shop had a nice atmosphere and was clean. The staff were pleasant too. I ordered shrimp and egg in chili sauce and chinjao rosu from 「みんの定食」, plus an individual order of gyoza that seemed to have a good reputation. It was delicious. The food arrived in about 7 minutes. Overall, I'd say the flavors were gentle rather than forceful. The draft beer was ice cold too. It was a very satisfying lunch. This was my first time at a neighborhood Chinese restaurant around 堀切菖蒲園駅, and it seems I made exactly the right choice.
View on GoogleMy mother said she recommended this restaurant, so the two of us visited together. We went around 13:00, but it seemed popular, and we queued a little before getting in. I ordered bang bang chicken and cold tantanmen, my mother ordered soft yakisoba with beef, and we shared one serving of gyoza. I understand they were busy, but first, what they brought while calling it soft yakisoba was actually crispy yakisoba. My mother doesn't like crispy yakisoba, so she left half of it. With the cold tantanmen, the sesame paste hadn't dissolved because the soup was cold, so the whole soup tasted weak and lacked the characteristic sesame aroma of tantanmen. I wanted them to chill it after the sesame paste had properly dissolved. The gyoza was ordinary too, and didn't feel worth coming here specifically to eat. My mother was also disappointed, saying it had been more delicious on her previous visit. We had been planning to go somewhere else, then changed plans at the last minute and came here specifically, so it was very disappointing.
