I made a reservation and waited about a year before finally coming to Kosen! I was able to enjoy the meat while listening to the owner's explanations, and it was delicious! The skirt steak and the kalbi seasoned with ginger were especially delicious! I would definitely like to come back!
View on GoogleThe pinnacle of neighborhood yakiniku. I joined a private dinner event at Kōsen, one of the most talked-about and fast-rising yakiniku restaurants today. There’s something undeniably charming about Keisei-Tateishi — a neighborhood where the nostalgic atmosphere of old Tokyo still lingers. From the outside, it looks like an ordinary yakiniku joint, yet it has become a destination restaurant that draws food lovers from all over Japan. The interior is quite compact, the air filled with the delicious smoke typical of a classic yakiniku spot, yet what’s served here is anything but ordinary — beef of remarkable quality, curated with exceptional taste. Dishes enjoyed that night ◆ Avocado kimchi ◆ White senmai sashimi (tripe) ◆ Salted beef tongue ◆ Harami (skirt steak) ◆ Lean red meat ◆ Premium loin ◆ Regular loin ◆ Maki loin (rolled cut) ◆ Hormone mix – liver, rumen, abomasum, and large intestine ◆ Egg soup The quality of the meat was outstanding — and not limited to wagyu; their use of Holstein beef demonstrated real skill and discernment. The marinade (momi-tare) was excellent, and even the side dishes showed great care and depth of flavor. Everything was designed to maximize enjoyment. Each cut came with a brief explanation of the optimal grilling method, after which we cooked and ate at our own pace — the ideal way to savor the meat. Truly, this is the highest expression of neighborhood yakiniku. Thank you for the meal — thank you for the wonderful meal.
View on GoogleI was lucky enough to be invited by a friend who had made this reservation more than a year ago. Around Minato-ku you can find plenty of popular yakiniku restaurants if you’re willing to pay, but Kousen truly stands out. The freshness of the meat is outstanding, and each cut is delicately seasoned or marinated in a way that perfectly enhances its natural flavor. The beef is incredibly tender, while the horumon has no trace of unpleasant odor — just pure, rich taste. This place is not about cost performance or following trends. It’s about genuine excellence. The kind of flavor that makes you stop mid-conversation because it’s just that good. Now I understand why getting a reservation here is so difficult. Truly one of the best yakiniku experiences I’ve ever had in Tokyo.

View on GoogleAn atmospheric yakiniku restaurant on a shopping street. I was surprised by how much higher the meat quality was than you would imagine from the exterior. The senmai sashimi we had first was especially memorable: fresh, with a great texture, and truly delicious. It was so good that I hurriedly took a photo only after eating some. You can already tell just by looking, but the liver was fresh and excellent too. All the yakiniku meat was also exceptionally delicious; you cannot go wrong with anything you order. It is nice that they have 虎マッコリ too; I recommend leaving the opening to the staff. The staff are friendly and easy to talk to, making this an approachable place even for a first visit. I would definitely like to return when I want delicious yakiniku.
