This hidden-gem cafe on an upper floor of Ito-Yokado is well designed with a stylish atmosphere. The drinks cover all the cafe standards like coffee, tea, and floats. Surprisingly, there's also a good range of food like pasta and curry, which is fairly appealing. Maybe there's demand at lunch too. Donuts and baked goods from a shop called Racine were also on display in the showcase at the entrance. I ordered a hot blend and one lemon donut. The bitterness and acidity are nicely balanced. The yeast donut with a hint of lemon had a fluffy texture and was indeed delicious. The bench seats were plush too; it was a nice place to enjoy a peaceful afternoon.
View on GoogleI had an old-fashioned donut and hot coffee. My takeaway: Mister Donut is amazing! I guess they don't handle the flour well. The texture isn't good. Since it's the simplest donut, I think the deliciousness of the dough itself is what counts, but I couldn't particularly taste the quality of the ingredients either. The coffee is just average. I went at tea time on a weekday, and the spacious interior was quiet, only about 20% full. It seems you can't use the outlets. Cashless payment accepted. What bothered me was the staff's somewhat slack vibe. I've worked in the industry myself so I know, even with few customers there's always plenty of work at a restaurant... but they had a vibe like they were idly killing time. On top of that, they don't pay attention to the customers, so they don't come to take your order.. It's on the same floor as a municipal branch office and there's foot traffic, but somehow it doesn't seem to be doing well. Personally I think it'd be nice if they offered an election discount or something. (Sorry if they already do) Anyway, I think the food needs to be reviewed right away. Even if people don't stay for tea, I'd like them to serve something that makes you want to take it home to eat. It's a conveniently located cafe, so I hope they do their best..
View on GoogleThe drinks are very large, so they're a good deal. I ordered the pudding à la mode. The pudding was firm and eggy, a taste I like. There were lots of other menu items that caught my eye, so I want to go again.
View on GoogleGoogle Maps only says "Temporarily closed," but there's a notice on site saying "8/31 NEW OPEN Mikka Tea Room," so it seems to be effectively closed. It's unclear whether the operating company is changing, etc. I liked the cream soda and Napolitan, so it's a shame.
View on GoogleI went after hearing it had newly opened. The staff were all cheerful and left a good impression. The interior has a cute atmosphere too, which is nice. I ordered pudding and an iced café au lait. The iced café au lait might be a good deal since there's a lot of it, but the taste was weak and I couldn't taste either the milk or the coffee. The pudding was firm, or rather, hard. They're probably using good ingredients, but it was so hard I couldn't really tell what it tasted like. I couldn't taste the egg flavor either. I get that piling the whipped cream high makes it look cute, but the balance of flavors wasn't to my liking.
