This is a planetarium that runs by Katsushika city. Entrance fees are ¥100 per adult and ¥50 per child. Admission fees are ¥350 per adult and ¥100.
View on GoogleAdmission is only 100 yen, really cheap. The museum is all about the history of Katsushika Ward, and there's a section displaying daily life from the old days, super interesting! The staff are really friendly too~
View on GoogleWatched the Saturday 14:30 show. There were lots of families, and more than 20 people were lined up at the entrance before the show, but the hall itself was spacious, with no one sitting right next to me on either side, so I could watch comfortably. There seem to be 2–3 programs a day, and the 14:30 show was "From Katsushika to Space." When it started, the footage of flying from where you are out into space was really realistic, to the point some people might find it scary. But after that, the program changed midway based on an audience poll, and the vividness of the planetarium itself was outstanding, so the roughly 50 minutes flew by. I think it's the first planetarium I've watched without falling asleep lol Next time I want to bring my husband and see the other programs.
View on GoogleThe planetarium is the best! Came alone around 18:00 on a Saturday. From buying the ticket onward, the staff kindly helped me. It wasn't crowded inside; I only saw a few people. As someone who recently moved to Katsushika Ward, I learned a lot, and the building is new with lots to see. Honestly, I went 1 hour before the planetarium, but going about 2 hours before might be good too. The planetarium was amazing; the detailed commentary, the music, and the image quality were all great, and the 60 minutes flew by. Admission 100 yen, planetarium 350 yen, a really great deal.
View on GoogleThe level of this planetarium is incredibly high... I've seen shows at many facilities, but for me this is number 1. The easy-to-understand live commentary, the visuals using the dome, the music, the staging that gives you the illusion of being in outer space... you can feel the passion of their original production. Even after it ended, they kindly answered questions. An hour that everyone, from kids to adults, can enjoy.
