The Best Tonkatsu in Japan — Right Here in Aoto. Once you taste it, you’ll definitely want to come back. This local favorite is often featured on celebrity YouTube channels and blogs, and it’s loved by Japanese locals for a reason. There are few tourists, so it's rare to line up without a reservation. Located on the 2nd floor of a building near Aoto Station, the restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere with sofa seats, traditional tatami seating, and regular dining tables. It’s cash only, but the menu is extensive — besides the famous tonkatsu (Japanese pork cutlet), you can also enjoy oyakodon (chicken & egg rice bowl), Japanese curry, and omelet rice. Each tonkatsu is handmade by the owner, and from the first bite, you can tell premium ingredients are used — the crispy coating and tender meat are simply perfect. Everything on the menu is delicious, but don’t miss the shrimp tempura, potato croquette, and limited daily specials. If you’re visiting Aoto, this place is an absolute must-try!

This place is an absolute gem 💎 which we chance upon (thanks to the recommendation & review on Google map! 👍🏼). A typical local shop tucked away in an alleyway on 2F of an unassuming building. Though the owner don’t speak much English, they are super nice & accommodating. Taking the time & effort to share the local natural salt to go with the meal & also key highlights of the different dishes. The tonkatsu dishes are amazing! 😋 we have had many tonkatsu in Singapore & Japan, this place is definitely a class above! If you are up for some ‘fat’, would definitely recommend to go for the ‘special pork loin cutlet’, the different layers of pork is truly delicious … would recommend to eat with salt (instead of sauce which can be kind of overpowering). And to top it off, they also offer Yamazaki 12-year whiskey at a great deal 🤤 This is definitely the place to go if you are around the area. Amazing price, staff were friendly, portions were huge, belly filled, feeling joyful. Katsu curry was so delicious it made my friend’s nose bleed.

Best meal I've ever had. I had de curry with tokatsu and can't see myself liking anything more that what I got served.
