The coffee shop in such a special location is run by an elderly woman alone. When I entered, there were a few customers. Given the location, are the people wearing suits lawyers? Thinking about that, I ordered the beef curry. It costs 1200 yen including salad and a drink. I think it's an average price. The beef curry was delicious with plenty of meat. It's a coffee shop that could be anywhere, but because it's the closest shop to the detention house, it seems that people who have been released on bail or people who have business at the detention house for visits sometimes come. The feelings of the people who visit seem to be a bit different from other shops.

2023/6/19 Today's lunch, I extended my walk and entered Ai-Ai in front of the Tokyo Detention House. I had the beef curry set (with iced coffee). It was delicious with the taste of an old-fashioned coffee shop. Smoking is allowed inside the shop. It is a shop that per smokers will be happy with. When I chatted with Mama, she said it had been about 52 years since she opened the shop in this area. It is a cozy coffee shop loved by the locals.

It is also a perfect meeting place to go to visit the detention house. It is located right in front of the detention house. I ordered the hamburger rice set. Hamburger and rice, plus seaweed soup and iced coffee after the meal. The hamburger is sweet and could make your teeth ache. Still, it's a nostalgic and delicious taste. You can spend a relaxing time with music playing quietly. There is a dial-type phone that spins, and I was impressed when it rang and a call came in.

I stop by every time I go to visit a friend who is incarcerated in the detention house. I've been coming here for over 20 years, and the delicious coffee and food have become one of the pleasures of coming to Kosuge.
