Thursday Lunch Near 西台 Station but something of a hidden gem Arrived before 12時 Winding through narrow streets and arrived My usual レバニラ炒め定食 set For me the flavor was a little heavy on the salt perhaps a bit strong Thanks for the meal

Sunday lunch here was great value, 850円 with unlimited rice and soup refills ✨ Ordered the jumbo gyoza 「焼き餃子セット」, 「ニラレバ定食」 and 「青椒肉絲定食」, and 西遊記チャーハン 748円 to take home 🎶 Everything was delicious and satisfying! Close to the station but in a hard-to-find location, a hidden gem. 2026.2.22

From the filling ramen set, I chose mala daoxiaomian and Chinese-style rice Before long, only the Chinese-style rice arrived First bite Hot! The cabbage is piping hot! So hot and delicious!! This raised my expectations for the mala noodles to come! As I kept eating, the mala noodles soon arrived A sip of broth The broth is thin and incredibly hot! The moment it entered my mouth, was that Sichuan pepper? A spice with a distinctive flavor I had tasted somewhere before rushed through my mouth and nose. Maybe this flavor is not geared toward Japanese tastes… I slightly regretted choosing a large portion. The toppings and vegetables were a little skimpy too. I question whether this is worth 1100円. Apart from the lunch menu, other menus were available at some seats but not others. Apparently large portions are free, but nobody asked me. It said coffee was free at lunch, but of course I did not get any. People who looked like office workers seemed to be charged extra when they got iced coffee, so I do not know whether it is really free. Even if the staff are not Japanese, service that leaves customers feeling uneasy seems inappropriate… Oh, the regulars who arrived later were eating fried-rice sets or liver-and-chive sets. And the Chinese-style rice (bowl?) was incredibly delicious!

I visited for dinner on a day off. First, I ordered beer, large pan-fried gyoza, and shrimp with mayonnaise from the alcohol set. ¥1098 was an incredible bargain. The gyoza tasted handmade and delicious. The shrimp with mayonnaise was outstanding. After a few drinks, I ordered ramen dishes. The ramen was Chinese-style soy-sauce ramen with a slight aroma like five-spice. It is not usually my favorite kind, but it was delicious. 担々刀削麺 A slightly sweet sesame broth with a strong miso flavor. The heat was mild. It was a little different from what I imagined. The Chinese-style rice bowl in the set was substantial and outstanding. I compared the large and regular pan-fried gyoza, but the amount of filling did not seem very different, so I personally preferred the regular ones. The shrimp with mayonnaise and Chinese-style rice bowl were very delicious. I thought the restaurant famous for delicious gyoza along the railway about 15 years ago had moved here, but apparently this is a different restaurant with the same name.

A Chinese restaurant next to ラーメン二郎西台店. Its specialty is daoxiaomian, and large portions are free at lunchtime. Tea is self-service and available near the entrance. My recommendation is stir-fried daoxiaomian (like yaki udon), but I have never seen anyone other than me eating it (laughs). It contains plenty of vegetables and will fill you up.
