大番ラーメン in ひばりヶ丘 is exceptionally good, so I went in wondering if this might be part of the same chain. Nope. I won't be coming back. Honestly, it's the kind of place that gets by on rose-tinted memories.

Lately 大番 has become a little hard to visit😱 …When you thought of 大番, it used to be a place famous for its gyoza…but……perhaps because the owner and his wife have gotten quite old? The taste is strange? Maybe they were made ahead and left sitting too long…there's a strange smell too?…I've loved 大番's gyoza and chashu-men for years, but it's very disappointing😞.

All the dishes have relatively generous portions, but the large omurice is practically like a helmet (LOL). Personally, I like the soft yakisoba. They're open late and have sour drinks too, so it's also handy for drinking.

The fried rice thoroughly stir-fried in lard and the old-fashioned ramen are delicious❗ It's a taste I crave when I return to my hometown

Miso butter chashu-men tastes so good when you're drunk! The gyoza is packed with garlic too, absolutely fantastic!
