A very local Chinese restaurant with great gyouza and very reasonable prices.
View on GoogleYou can enjoy old-fashioned town Chinese cuisine. You can dine with peace of mind even if you bring a toddler. There is no parking lot, so you will have to use a paid parking lot, but I think it is worth coming if you want to taste the good old days.
View on GoogleI visited for the first time in 7 years. The last time was when this shop was on TV. They called it Itabashi moist fried rice, but ours is nothing like that w Soy sauce ramen set with seasoned egg: Only ¥850 for this set with seasoned egg... The world is tolerant of price hikes, but the master is not greedy. The ramen soup has a gentle taste without the sharpness of soy sauce. The medium-thick curly noodles don't pick up the soup well, but it's no problem if you slurp from the edge of the bowl. Also, the crispiness and the way the soup soaks in well contribute to the compatibility. Fried rice is the star of the set, so it's pre-made. The texture is dry and loose. To put it badly, it's simple, but it's quite delicious. The grilled aroma is strong, accelerating the appetite. This fried rice, I'd like to make a luxurious set meal with a single dish. I wish there was sweet and sour pork..., there wasn't w. Then maybe with liver and chives...
View on GoogleFirst time going, Funase-san, I was confused about the menu, but I chose the bean sprout noodle set🍜🍚 The bean sprout noodle taste is strong and there is almost no thickness, but it was my first time eating the noodles and they were delicious, in my personal opinion (it felt like Sapporo Ichiban noodles made even better) the soup was also addictive and I drank it all up😋 As for the fried rice, maybe it wasn't mixed, there were salty parts and tasteless parts, but I mixed it myself and it was resolved, the Chinese cabbage and pickled radish were not too salty and delicious. The uncle and aunt are probably in their 80s, I want them to continue running the shop for a long time! Next I want to try the ginger pork set that 3 people ordered in a row🫡 20/5/2025 I ate the ginger pork set, the garlic was effective, there was just the right amount of fat and it was thin so it was easy to eat💮 The rice, soup, and pickles were all delicious😋👍 Second time ginger pork set, the pork belly seasoning was good and delicious! The gyoza was also hot, next is mapo💡 13/9/2025 The old man was very tired, Funase fans should go as much as possible🍜
This is a neighborhood Chinese restaurant located about a 12-minute walk from Narimasu Station. I heard rumors that their fried rice was delicious, so I decided to check it out. The restaurant is situated along a main road, and its bright yellow sign makes it easy to spot. Since you can't see inside from the outside, I gathered my courage and slid open the door. As soon as I stepped in, I was greeted by a counter directly in front of me, with one four-person table on each side. The place had a nostalgic and cozy atmosphere. Since it was spring Koshien season when I visited, an old-fashioned CRT television was playing a live baseball game, adding to the retro charm of the restaurant. After the usual "Welcome!" greeting, there were no instructions on seating. I looked around and decided to sit at an open counter seat. I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to seat myself, but when I noticed other customers quietly sitting down without any guidance, I figured that’s just how it worked. (A little later, I was kindly offered a four-person table.) What I Ordered: Fried Rice Miso Butter Ramen Gyoza I was surprised to see that each dish was priced at around 500 to 600 yen—such classic, old-school prices! As expected from a neighborhood Chinese restaurant, the menu was extensive. I was tempted to order stir-fried meat and vegetables as well, but I decided to save that for my next visit. The restaurant appeared to be run by a husband-and-wife team. The food was great, the atmosphere was fantastic, and their friendly interactions while cooking added a warm touch to the experience. The Long-Awaited Fried Rice… with a Twist However, there was a bit of an unexpected mishap. I suspect that, due to how busy they were, they accidentally forgot to season it—there was absolutely no salt, making it just plain stir-fried rice. Since more customers had started coming in, it felt a little awkward to say anything, so I just ate it as it was. I’ll give them another chance next time! The miso butter ramen, on the other hand, was exactly as delicious as I had hoped. While the portion of toppings was a bit sparse—understandable given the low price—the flavor was rich and satisfying. In fact, the butter portion was so generous that I wondered if they were even making a profit! The gyoza had a strong garlic punch and were cooked with a high-heat, slightly charred style often seen in neighborhood Chinese restaurants. I enjoyed them with a simple vinegar and pepper dipping sauce. Since the fried rice I was looking forward to didn’t quite hit the mark this time, my overall rating for the food is a bit low. But I plan to come back soon for a second try and hopefully improve my impression!
