My first visit. It turned out to be a gem in a residential neighborhood. They have very good-value set menus for people with big appetites. I ordered the 特丼 and ramen set. I'd exercised a lot and was hungry, so I could finish it, but I think you could easily find yourself unable to finish if you weren't prepared. After the ramen came a 特丼 so large it looked impossible to finish, and I wondered whether I could eat it all, but one bite delivered more umami than I'd imagined, and for the first time in ages, I silently ate every last bite. Each dish was about a full serving. The shop showed its age, but the portions, flavor, and prices were all wonderful. I felt this was the kind of place to treasure. If I'm nearby, I'd definitely like to try the other dishes.
View on GoogleI don't remember why I saved it, but I went to 八番, which was on my route and on my want-to-visit list. I ordered a large 特丼. They asked again, "A large?" and I said large, but then I understood why they'd checked. It was much more food than I'd imagined. Haha. The seasoning tasted like pork kimchi. It was an addictive flavor, but I prefer something a little sweeter and spicier, so I gave it 3 stars. Still, the value was good—even the large was 1000円‼️ Great‼️ Next time I'd like to try the ginger pork or something. There's no parking, so park in a nearby paid parking lot.
View on GoogleI'd passed the street in front of this shop hundreds of times and had long known it was there, but parking difficulties kept putting me off. I finally visited. The menu had something you could recognize as a specialty at a glance! 特丼: Only this and one other dish had photos on the menu, so I waited, guessing it was something like a grilled-meat rice bowl. Oh, that red-looking bowl really whets the appetite! Well then, let's dig in. Huh? It's not very spicy. Maybe it's my fault for having grown up on 中本, but perhaps the red color isn't from chili? It's not very sweet, but there's something Korean-style about the flavor. The thinly sliced meat and vegetables are piping hot! I dug into the whole mixture! The soup does more than reset the palate; it has quite a bit of body and holds its own against the strongly flavored main. It's a soup that invites you back to try the ramen! Excellent flavor that makes the lively atmosphere inside understandable. And only ¥900—what a blessing!
View on GoogleI had the 特丼 for 900円: plenty of onion and pork belly stir-fried with slightly spicy miso. It felt like a classic neighborhood Chinese dish, with seasoning that makes you keep eating rice. There was plenty of rice too, and it was quite delicious.
View on GoogleThe appeal is an atmosphere where you can comfortably eat your fill. The service and hospitality are ordinary, but perfectly satisfying for a neighborhood Chinese restaurant. This time I ordered 「特丼」「餃子」「ラーメン」. The 特丼 was mildly spicy with a gochujang flavor, with vivid green peppers against an orange-toned background. Crunchy onion, scrambled egg, and savory pork blended beautifully, and there was plenty of rice, making it very filling. Each bite released the umami of different ingredients, and it was very delicious. The gyoza were packed with filling, with thin, chewy wrappers. The garlicky filling was well seasoned and delicious. The ramen was a light, simple bowl distinguished by its clear soup. It was topped with green onion, menma, wakame, and half a boiled egg, and the slightly wavy, old-fashioned noodles felt nostalgic. The soy sauce broth was perfectly seasoned, and I drank it all. It's an appealing place with generous portions and a homey atmosphere.
