Great restaurant that had a variety of different food from around Japan. I had the katsu-udon and it was delicious. They are also open late which is a nice perk.

2026/06/26 11:10 Rain (typhoon passing) I visited the nearby イエローハット for an oil change and came here for lunch while waiting for the work to finish. It had been about 1 year since my last visit. Although it was early, there were already 3 groups of customers. I came alone but was shown to a booth (they probably only have booths). Although it's an udon restaurant, I'd wanted tonkatsu from the start, so I ordered a large katsu-ju, seiro soba, and extra nori (cold soba costs an additional 70円). The food arrived in about 10 minutes. First, the katsu-ju. I started eating from the right edge… no flavor. As I worked toward the middle, I began to taste the broth. Maybe the broth was poured unevenly? As a result, the accompanying 「takuan」 tasted really good. The katsu was tender enough to cut with a soup spoon and generously sized, so it was a little disappointing. After finishing the katsu-ju, I switched to the soba. The extra nori was more generous than expected, and I enjoyed it. The wasabi provided a very nice accent (was it real wasabi?). I'll stop by again if I get the chance. ※The smoking area is in the parking lot. ※Adding them as a friend on LINE gets you an immediate 5% discount.

Perhaps choosing soba here was a bit misguided after all. Honestly, I didn't find the soba very tasty this time. I'd really appreciate being able to order katsu on its own, but this time I chose katsu nikomi. Personally, though, I wasn't really in the mood for a simmered dish, and the flavor itself was underwhelming, so I was a little disappointed. The restaurant was very busy, and since it was around 19 on a Saturday, it was probably right at peak time. The parking lot is also quite narrow, so it seems difficult to park smoothly unless your timing is good. I think most people have some idea of the flavor here, but has it become less tasty than before, or has my palate become more refined…? This visit felt a little disappointing. What particularly bothered me was the timing of the food. There were two of us, but our dishes arrived quite far apart. Having one person's food arrive just as the other is finishing really isn't ideal. I understand it's difficult when they're busy, but improving even this one point would make dining here more pleasant.

When I returned to the office after a long time, my boss invited me to lunch. He said that if he went to a ramen shop with me, we wouldn't get any conversation in lol, so we drove quite a long way at speed to this place where we could take our time. Unfortunately, my camera was acting up despite being new, so I only have these 2 pictures. I don't know the detailed menu or prices, but the set mainly included seiro rice with asari clams, tempura, udon, chawanmushi, pickles, and a drink. The udon has a smooth, slurpy texture that's a little unusual. This is delicious! Lightly fried tempura and asari rice with pleasantly springy clams! The portions were small individually, but they satisfied my greedy wish to try lots of different tasty things. I used to think of family restaurants as testing grounds for frozen food, but especially the Japanese ones may have been refined into something quite rare in the world! It's a shame they're not often in my usual area, but since I travel by car, I feel like visiting places I've barely noticed before could lead to more new discoveries…
