The elderly woman who brought the water dribbled saliva. When I asked, “Do you have a menu?” she only said, “There's no menu.” I ended up ordering from what was posted on the wall. Right in the middle of weekday lunchtime, I was the only customer from start to finish. The time until the food arrived was average. The taste was pretty good.
View on GoogleA long-established place from the Showa era. Delicious. I had katsudon and kake soba. Unlike the reliably polished taste of chain restaurants, this soba shop's katsudon and soba had distinctive character. I'll be back. For a road cyclist, the only inconvenience was having to take off my shoes to use the restroom.
View on GoogleIt might feel lacking and unsuitable for gourmets. Personally, it was the kind of place I like. Although it's called a soba restaurant, the mori soba didn't feel like its main attraction. The soba leaned toward a smooth-to-swallow style, and the dipping sauce was fairly mild, so I felt I didn't need sobayu and didn't order any. (This is a matter of taste. I'm also a fan of 100% buckwheat soba.) The katsudon I ate alongside it was very delicious, perhaps thanks to the savory dashi. The flavor wasn't too strong, and the portions were a little small, but I thought it was very good for everyday visits. The price was high for the portion size, but since the katsudon satisfied me, it felt reasonable. The niku tofu another customer was eating looked really good, so I'd like to try that next time.

View on GoogleI ate katsudon and soba. Expensive. Ordinary, to the point of stirring no feelings at all. There's a cheaper, tastier place called 福佐屋 on the same street. It's more than 100m from this shop, but if you're choosing based on taste, go there. They have a katsudon and soba set for a little over 1000.
