I'd been curious about this place, so I went in when I saw the open sign. I ordered the ginger pork set for 800円, and my companion ordered the karaage set for 800円. Fresh vegetables, lightly salted miso soup, and pickles; the vegetables were fresh and delicious too. The owner was friendly and easy to talk to. The restaurant has an atmosphere that reflects its history, but it's kept clean and well maintained. A wonderful place where you can still get a set meal for 800円 these days.
View on GoogleAn izakaya located some distance from Hino Station. I had lunch here. The surprising thing is the price of the bento. Curry rice is 280円. Isn't that cheaper than a school cafeteria? Even lunch is 600円. I had the grilled mackerel set, which was freshly grilled, piping hot, fatty, and delicious. The side dishes had gentle flavors too. The service is average. There are many elderly neighbors chatting, giving it the feel of a gathering place for regulars. Whether you like that may depend on your preferences. The problem is the tidiness inside… personally, it's not for me. Various things are piled on the stage that used to be used for karaoke. I wish it were a little more organized.
View on GoogleLunch is affordable, starting at 650円. If the ingredients are good and it tastes good, I could come regularly. Perhaps it depends on the freshness of the fish? I think they buy it at Kakujo. If they had fried sardines, maybe I'd want to come regularly? The kitchen should be tidied up. If they bought inexpensive horse mackerel and made sashimi and fried fish, they'd gain more regular customers. Also, if they bought a new rice cooker, the rice would probably taste better.
