The elephant there on the day I visited had no tusks, which worried me for a moment, but a sign said a doctor was properly examining it, it's under treatment, and there's no problem. It's spacious with an open view, so I could see it perfectly.
View on GoogleStereotypic behavior (abnormal behavior such as swaying the body or pacing back and forth in the same spot, mainly caused by stress from loneliness) was observed. Improving the captive environment is urgently needed.
View on GoogleAround 3:30 pm It was pacing back and forth in front of the gate. It must want a companion.
View on GoogleRight now there is only one African elephant at Tama Zoological Park. But Tama Zoological Park is the only zoo in Tokyo where you can see African elephants! Please make a trip to Tama Zoological Park and come see the African elephant!
View on GoogleThe elephant's tusk broke and it's being treated.
