Food was just okay, and it was a little small and a little expensive. The gyoza was an exception, it was actually quite good. Way too expensive, though. I don't regret going, but I don't think I'll be going back.

It's a nice local ramen place, not fancy at all, good old style ramen run by a local family.

I love hot food. This was the hottest ramen I ever had. I was great. I miss this restaurant.

Although it's called Ramen Honpo, it's an old-fashioned ramen shop. I ordered Tokyo ramen with light soy sauce, gyoza, and a mini chashu rice bowl. The ramen has a light broth with a gentle chicken-bone flavor that gradually comes through. The gyoza are small, but have chewy wrappers and moist filling that releases meat juices. In the mini chashu rice bowl, the sharp heat of horseradish pairs beautifully with the tender, satisfying, sauce-covered chashu. Honestly, it was so delicious I wanted a regular standalone serving rather than a mini. The prices are satisfying too. A ramen shop near Higashimurayama Station I can recommend.

My first visit. We had a slightly early dinner. I ordered miso tsukemen and gyoza, while my wife ordered miso butter bean sprout ramen, a beef tendon rice bowl, and gyoza. Inside there were 3 tables and around 10 counter seats. You order verbally and pay afterward. There were no water pitchers or places for belongings at the counter. First, my wife said the broth of her miso butter bean sprout ramen was thin, so it would leave lovers of rich flavors unsatisfied. On the other hand, she highly recommended the beef tendon rice bowl, saying she'd want a regular bowl rather than a small one. The broth for my miso tsukemen was very delicious, but the noodles were hard. I normally like firm noodles, but even I found them hard, which was disappointing. Had they been a little softer, it would have been 5 stars without question. The gyoza are small, but the filling is substantial and I think they're delicious! All the customers eating inside said thank you for the meal as they left, which made me feel this is a shop loved by the locals!
