I was planning to just head home after the baseball game, but I spotted a sign for a collab with Tenichi, which I love, so I suddenly wanted to eat at least that and stopped by. I've been to Dandadan itself in Ikebukuro and Kawagoe, but this was my first time in Akitsu. And it's been a while. First, the pan-fried gyoza. Still tasty as ever, but I remembered the meat juices bursting out, and they didn't really, so it was a bit of a letdown. Maybe the taste has dropped a little. The Tenichi soup was exactly like the real thing and delicious. But I also thought, it didn't have to be today. It's pretty pricey, and regular ramen would've been fine. I also had a few drinks, but my impression was that it was quite expensive. Was it like this before? 650 yen for a glass of draft beer and 550 yen for a sour is a bit expensive.
View on GoogleThe gyoza skins are "mochi-puru" (chewy and bouncy), and the flavor is solid, so they're tasty as they are, but a little vinegar and chili oil is good too! That day it was still early evening, and we stopped by to fill up before heading to Seibu Stadium. I'd worked 5 hours and skipped lunch, while my husband had the day off and had already eaten lunch, so we kept it light: two plates of gyoza, a non-alcoholic drink for him, a draft beer for me, and on the way back from the baseball we bought 30 frozen gyoza. I want to eat these "mochi-puru gyoza" as boiled gyoza~. So, a few days later, we had them as pan-fried gyoza and boiled gyoza!
View on GoogleWhile changing trains, I got curious about the Tenkaippin collab item, so I stopped by. I've been to several Dandadan locations, but I felt the staff here were the friendliest, and I'd rate the service fairly high. When I looked around to order, I'd usually catch someone's eye, and if they couldn't handle it, they'd tell another staff member to come take my order. The floor also wasn't sticky like at other locations, and it felt clean. Of course the food was delicious, without the "somehow cold" thing I experienced at other locations, and the Tenkaippin collab item I came for was tasty too. Many of the staff actively communicated, for example proactively telling me which items come out quickly since what I ordered took time to cook. ※It was early, so the staff may have had more breathing room; the service quality may not be the same at peak times I don't go to Shin-Akitsu much, but I'd like to come again if I'm nearby.
View on GoogleI visited for lunch in September. It's right by Shin-Akitsu Station, on the 2nd floor up a fairly steep staircase. It was hot that day and I was drenched in sweat, but the air-conditioned interior was the best! Plus, the limited-time iced draft beer and Sui gin soda were only 209 yen including tax! There were lots of lunch options, and we ordered the yurinchi set meal, juicy pan-fried gyoza, and plate wontons. The yurinchi set is only 1000 yen yet comes with this much food. The two of us ate the set and gyoza while enjoying the cheap drinks, and we were happy from midday. By the way, city folks probably know this place is a chain, but in Tohoku there are only 2 locations, in Sendai! In that sense too, it was a really special experience.
View on GoogleA gyoza tavern in front of Shin-Akitsu Station. The entrance is on the 2nd floor of the building. There are tables of various shapes. The gyoza set meal has tasty boiled gyoza in the soup, and the pan-fried gyoza are full of meat juices and delicious.
