I came 10 minutes before opening, there were already people waiting. This time I ordered zaru udon, meat broth, tempura, kakuni chimaki, and curry bread. Curry bread is fried after ordering so it's hot and delicious. Meat broth is a thick soy sauce base with a faint aroma of bonito and kelp stock, udon feels like old-fashioned Musashi udon, even feels nostalgic. Before leaving the shop before 12 o'clock, many customers were queuing, a shop full of vitality. Thank you for the meal, I will come again.
View on Google(2026.4) First visit as part of a udon shop tour. I wondered why there are two entrances, the left side is a takeout window directly connected to the kitchen, and it opened before opening time (11:00). The interior of the shop with 2 tables for 6 people and 3 counter seats has a calming atmosphere. The staff is also full of vitality, good, isn't it. On that day, takeout customers also came endlessly, I realized that it is a popular shop. This time I had "Special portion udon/meat broth", "Tempura", "3 types of staples", but because there was room in my stomach, I added "Curry bread" which has a good reputation. Udon using local flour can also fully feel the aroma of wheat so it's delicious (!!), so I ate a few strands as is. The saltiness level is also just right. It's not harder than "old-fashioned Musashi" and is easy to eat. Regarding the amount (g) of the special portion that is curious, maybe because the person I asked was not in charge of cooking, they didn't know. (Subjectively about 6-700g?) Broth for dipping that becomes meat broth with +80 yen, the saltiness of the soy sauce doesn't stand out so the taste is gentle. The balance with the umami of the broth is very good and very delicious. There are no long green onions etc., it's clean. "Tempura" is kakiage and burdock tempura, it was crispy. There is no salt on the table, so I dipped it in the broth. Together with "3 types of staples", it was a reasonable amount as a side menu. "Curry bread" is indeed the best when freshly fried!! Thick curry, I feel the spices of course but it was good because it wasn't too spicy. I have toured various Murayama udon shops, I felt that this is a famous shop that enters the top of my personal preference. I want to come again. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleLocated deep in a residential area, I think you wouldn't be able to get there without a map app. The entrance on the right side of the building is for takeout, if eating inside the shop enter from the right. Opens at 11 but I arrived early around 10:55. Takeout was open but eating inside the shop was strictly from 11. Because I was alone, counter was fine, but they guided me to a table. I ordered large portion udon, tempura, and meat broth. Not even 5 minutes after ordering, it was brought. Tempura seems to be different depending on the day, this day was vegetable kakiage and burdock tempura. Strong and chewy udon, there is texture when chewing. Dipping broth felt light. Payment other than cash, could use paypay and rakuten pay scan payment.
View on Google10 minutes walk north from Higashimurayama Station. Rural udon shop in the middle of a residential area where Seibu Shinjuku Line and Ikebukuro Line are separated. There is a curtain at the house next to the souvenir shop. There are only 3 counter seats, and there are two tables for 6 people. A room like a rural dirt floor becomes a dining room. Several cars can also park. After receiving the order, they start boiling, so I waited quite a while. Ordered meat broth udon, kakiage, kashiwa tempura, and 3 types of vegetables. 3 types of vegetables are eggplant, green beans, radish. Tempura uses new oil, fried lightly. The noodles have a certain chewiness and have texture when chewing, but not as strong as Sanuki udon, and don't feel sticky chewy. Feels like simple Musashino udon. Aroma of wheat is also felt. Broth is gentle taste, soy sauce taste where bonito stock doesn't come out too much. Feels like tightening with salt. Inside the broth there are 2 pieces of pork belly, komatsuna, green onions, etc. Close to Kanto household taste, feels familiar. 4.0
View on GoogleVisited as a shop related to Ken Shimura. Open until 14:00, but I entered in a rush at the last minute. If zaru udon, type eaten by dipping in cold broth. If adding 80 yen meat broth, warm meat broth is served instead of cold broth. And that meat broth is delicious. Udon feels thin as Musashino udon, but the chewiness is decent and delicious. And the price is cheap. I was surprised when adding 140 yen tempura, not freshly fried but cold, but 2 types of burdock tempura and kakiage came out. According to the shop person's story, not Ken Shimura himself, but his older brother and staff often came. There is also takeout, so maybe even if he himself couldn't come, he ate it with takeout.
