Genuine firmness and rich aroma born from careful stone milling. “Teuchi Soba Kawabe” in Hamura, Tokyo, is a restaurant serving outstanding dishes that showcase artisan skill. Conveniently located within walking distance of Ozaku Station, it is easy to drop in thanks to its proximity to the station. We take pride in using our carefully stone-milled house-made flour and serving only the soba made that day according to the “three fresh” principles. Teuchi Soba Kawabe Ozaku branch @ Ozaku Kakiage ten soba ¥1166 The most popular dish, “kakiage ten soba,” at this popular handmade soba restaurant in Ozaku❗️ The huge kakiage sticking out beyond the bowl is impressive❗️ It is not just big, but fried crisp and light, with the onions retaining a slight crunch at just the right doneness. Superb kakiage, whether eaten as is or dipped in the broth‼️ Being handmade, the soba noodles were uneven in thickness and rather short, but flavorful, and the broth fragrant with bonito stock had a rich taste❗️ Have to come again,,, Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleI went for dinner on a weekday around 19:00, but it was nowhere near as crowded as before and was practically empty. I have been coming since it opened, over 20 years perhaps? You can still enjoy truly delicious soba here. My personal recommendation is the onigiri and soba set. It is so delicious that even a large portion feels a little insufficient. Once every several dozen visits or so, I have been served a quite salty onigiri, so I think they really shape and make them from scratch. Anyway, if you want delicious soba that is consistently good, I think you cannot go wrong here.
View on GoogleThis is a soba and udon restaurant in Ozaku Sakashita, Hamura. They use Nishimonai soba from Akita. Since freshness is vital for buckwheat flour, they stone-mill only the amount needed each day. Soba made and boiled from freshly milled flour is flavorful, firm, and delicious. The kakiage tempura is so large that it extends beyond the bowl, and is tasty and very filling. The curry udon is delicious too. The flavor makes it clear why they have so many fans.
View on GoogleIt was full at lunchtime on Sunday, and I think I waited about 10 minutes. Tendon with mini soba ◎ The soba was unbelievably delicious! The broth and tempura were all delicious too! Looking around the packed restaurant, everyone except me had zaru soba. I want to try zaru soba next time! Thank you for the meal!
View on GoogleEvery date containing a 9 is “Kawabe Day,” and one topping chosen by the restaurant is provided free. It gives the impression of a restaurant that values local people. The soba is flavorful and goes down refreshingly smoothly. The kaeshi sauce for the zaru soba is very delicious and keeps your chopsticks moving. The soba is delicious, but the tempura is too! Men should definitely try the kakiage soba. The portion is huge and will fill you up (haha). And their coronavirus precautions are excellent. Acrylic panels are installed between facing seats, and disinfectant alcohol is available. Cleaning is thorough, and there are no problems at all. Just one disappointing thing: I know they are busy, but I wish they would occasionally come around to refill the tea. Alternatively, it would help if we could pour it ourselves.
