Quiet restaurant with helpful staff. Not too many people when I went on a Monday.

Soba, udon, rice bowls, tempura—every dish is very delicious. The delicate, slightly sweet dashi has a savory flavor that is refreshing rather than heavy. There is a wide range of hot and cold soba and udon, letting you enjoy various dishes regardless of the season. The tempura is fragrant and fried crisp too. Every visit, I struggle to decide what to order. It is also nice to get delicious tempura crumbs for free. They are worlds apart from those sold in supermarkets. Be sure to take a bag home. (First come, first served!) The autumn and winter menu has started. Let's enjoy the seasonal dishes.

My 2nd visit to 甚作. This time I had the katsudon set (with hot soba). The 『katsu』 felt a little lacking. My companion shared some of their 『小エビののらそば』 with me, and it matched my taste perfectly and was truly delicious. I even regretted not eating it in summer. I recommend 『小エビののらそば』 (I forgot to take a photo). ================== My first visit to 甚作. I had sanmi soba. On a hot day, it was refreshing, easy to eat, and delicious. As others have posted, the staff's conversations are quite loud, so it may be tough for people who want to eat quietly. It is really nice to have free parking despite being near the station, and to be able to use paypay.

I stopped by for lunch. There are many appealing dishes typical of a soba shop, but I chose the katsudon set with a large serving of cold soba. Both were half portions, so making the soba large was just right. The soba was very firm, almost hard, but it was the firmness I like.

It is 200 meters from the station ticket gates. From outside, it always looked as though it was not popular, so I had rarely ventured in, but contrary to expectations, it is doing brisk business. 2025.4 First visit A rice bowl + noodles (soba or udon) costs 1050円. Ten soba sets and similar sets are also 1050円. Looking around, the rice bowls seem smaller than standalone bowls because noodles are included. This time I ordered the Yanagawa-style duck set meal. The duck was nicely simmered, with a substantial amount of meat. I added dashimaki (this is fluffy and an uncommon kind, so definitely try it once) and tsukune (2 skewers, with spicy ketchup?). Everything was delicious. Unfortunately, there was not much thickness to the sobayu. 2025.7 4th visit The summer menu appeared. Set prices had increased a little (from 50円〜). The grilled duck set meal (1100円 including tax) has a lovely grilled duck aroma. It is cooked nicely too. I suppose the price increase cannot be helped. Do come by car. 2025.10.19 lunch The grilled duck set meal again (1100円 including tax). The grilled duck aroma is as lovely as ever. There are often many duck dishes on menus in Kanto.
