Super spicy mapo tofu. Its spiciness is equally matched by its flavor and atmosphere. Staff is very friendly and polite as well. After you finish your meal, they give you a sweet almond tofu that helps stabilize your tongue and bring pure bliss. Don't be fooled. Even no spice level is still spicy. I would recommend level 1 for new customers who enjoy a perfect balance of flavor and spice. Set B comes with sliced chicken breast and broccoli as a small appetizer that tastes great.
View on GoogleIt’s available for taking it out also. But of course more better tasty is inside eating. It’s a bit famous Mabo-Tofu place. I often have one hour’s commute to visit this station to eat this Mabo-Tofu, normally after fishing near by. You can eat Very good tasty and hot Ma-Ra-Mabo-Tofu. And also all staffs is very kind.

View on GoogleSukobiru @ Ozaku Mapo tofu set with bang bang chicken ¥1600, Yebisu beer (small) ¥700 A mapo tofu specialty shop near Ozaku Station. A popular place with people waiting outside at weekday lunchtime; when I visited there were 2 people waiting outside, and I got in after about 5 minutes. The menu is boldly mapo tofu only. The basic set is Set C, which comes with rice, soup, and dessert. Set B adds bang bang chicken, and Set A gets you double mapo tofu and even extra-large rice—that's the lineup. I wanted to drink beer, so I ordered Set B with bang bang chicken, spiciness “regular,” and a medium rice (350g). The bang bang chicken, served first as an appetizer, is mainly chicken breast beautifully plated with black sesame sauce, miso sauce, and broccoli. The two sauces paired with the moist breast meat are outstandingly delicious, so if it's your first visit I really want you to try Set B. While drinking beer and picking at the bang bang chicken, Chinese-style corn soup is served. This soup's flavor is also wonderful, showing a high level. Next, the main mapo tofu. I asked for “regular” spiciness, but from the first bite the heat of chili and the numbing of Sichuan pepper come rushing in—authentic spiciness❗️ I asked for medium rice (350g), and it's spicy enough that you need about this much rice to balance it❗️ Yet you can still fully taste the flavor of the tofu and the umami of the meat miso—an exquisite balance❗️ This is delicious‼️ The almond tofu dessert is also a properly rich, tasty one. From appetizer to soup, the main mapo tofu, rice, and dessert, the pacing of the service was perfect, and everything was of a quality surpassing high-end Chinese restaurants❗️ A hidden gem of Ozaku. Thank you for the meal♪
View on GoogleThe mapo tofu is insanely delicious. A supreme dish. It's properly spicy, but well balanced with umami, so you can enjoy it to the very end. The roughly chopped green onions and garlic shoots add a nice textural accent. If you love mapo tofu, I want you to try this dish at least once.
