It was delicious. I will be back next time I am in town.
View on GoogleI visited a few months ago when they were serving morning ramen. In the past, when the previous owner was still alive and well, I visited many times during the day and had opportunities to chat with him. Everyone says this is a 八王子ラーメン restaurant, but I do not consider it a 八王子ラーメン restaurant. I think it is a restaurant that serves delicious ramen with a consistent flavor whenever you eat it. The sharp soy sauce soup delivers a powerful hit of savory broth flavor. The chashu is tender and substantial too. The ramen here. It is fantastic. The woman who now runs the restaurant is also very attentive in her service, and I was satisfied. As someone struggling to find morning ramen, I am very disappointed that they no longer offer it. Still, I think this is a restaurant that has operated here for a long time and has many fans. It is an important restaurant to me that I want to visit whenever I have time to spare. The restaurant's opening hours are tweeted on X, so I think it is best to check there. I will keep coming to eat, so please continue to look after me.
View on GoogleToday I visited ラーメンおざく for the first time in over 20 years. Previously a man did the cooking, but this time it was a woman. At 11時30分 there was 1 customer already there. The interior has a Showa-era feel. This time I ordered chashu-men. The bowl arrived in about 10 minutes. First, a sip of the soup. It was not as strong as it looked, and I could not taste much broth flavor; perhaps it was rather restrained. To put it positively, it had a gentle flavor. As others have said, I also thought both the flavor and chashu resembled 星の家 in 八王子. As for the onion topping, sliced onion is unusual. I think I prefer it chopped. This restaurant felt like a soul-food spot for locals. Thanks for the meal.
View on GoogleThis is 「ラーメンおざく」 in 羽村市, 東京都. I was nearby for work and visited because I had marked it on Google Maps. All right, the order. Chashu-men 1050円. Wonton topping 150円. Regular rice 200円. The total was 1400円. (As of 2025/8月.) First, the soup. The soup was a slightly cloudy clear broth. It had a somewhat distinctive flavor… but by the end I had somehow gotten hooked on it (lol). Incidentally, adding plenty of pepper canceled out that distinctive flavor. The noodles were medium-thick with high water content. They were cooked just right, neither too soft nor too firm. The chashu was fall-apart tender and meltingly soft. Delicious. There were also wontons, shinachiku, nori, and sliced onion. (The owner said this is not a 八王子ラーメン restaurant. That is why the onions are sliced rather than finely chopped.) The rice came with shibazuke and ユカリ furikake. Nice. I ate in a relay: chashu, rice with ユカリ furikake, then ramen soup. Yes, 「おざく」 was a roadside ramen restaurant loved by locals. It absolutely oozes Showa atmosphere. I would give it around 3.8 stars. It was reliably tasty. The previous owner is no longer there, and his two daughters now run the restaurant. Incidentally, the parking lot is diagonally across the road, with room for about 5 cars. For reference. Everyone, do drop by sometime.
View on GoogleTo be blunt, it tasted really bad. I have almost never left ramen unfinished before, but this time I could not manage it. The smell bothered me from the first bite, and I could not taste any savory flavor in the soup at all. I came after hearing it was in the 八王子ラーメン style, but it was completely different from what I had expected. If you are charging 750円, I would at least like it to taste minimally edible. Honestly, I will not be returning.
