View on GoogleI visited after searching for a place serving hearty food that stays open into the evening. It's in front of the station, so it's easy to find. There are around 10 seats inside. It seems to be run by a married couple. Perhaps because it was around 9 at night, the only customers were me and one other person. First, you buy a ticket from the ticket machine. It seems to be cash only. This time, I chose 焼肉丼 with a large rice portion. You can increase the amount of rice for an extra charge. It arrived in a few minutes. Generous in size, just as expected. The flavor was a little light.
View on Google味里丼@小作 三元豚 特上カツ丼¥920, large portion¥150, canned beer¥450 「味里丼」 is right by 小作駅. It's a counter-only rice-bowl eatery specializing in カツ丼, 親子丼, and スタミナ丼. I had what seemed to be their top recommendation, 「特上カツ丼」, with a large rice portion. The slightly sweet rice-bowl sauce is seasoned somewhat strongly. The meat is moderately thick. It seems a little overcooked, but the meat is tender and delicious. As for the rice, I regretted ordering a large portion right off the bat lol. The rice was delicious and cooked just right, but there was more than 400g, perhaps even close to 500g... It's substantial and great for growing youngsters, but a bit tough for someone past 60. (Of course, I finished it.) Next time, I might have something like スタミナ丼 in a regular portion...
View on GoogleI visited for the first time because I was passing nearby. I went during a quiet part of lunchtime. I ordered 生姜焼き丼 and チキン南蛮丼. First, the 生姜焼き丼 tasted very good, the meat was tender, and the portion was completely satisfying. The チキン南蛮丼 had lots of big, chunky pieces of karaage. They were coated in a thickened-style sauce and were very delicious. The rice in both was glossy, fluffy, and delicious. Even the regular portions were quite large, and they came with miso soup, so my stomach was satisfied. The atmosphere inside was very nice, and the people at the shop were very kind. 8
