The moment the bowl arrives, the aroma of frothy, rich tonkotsu shoyu broth hits you. Chicken oil glistens on the surface. It's already a win. First, a sip as it is. A powerful hit of pork-bone richness. But it isn't just heavy. The sharp soy sauce tightens up the finish. The medium-thick noodles are short and chewy. The way they cling to the broth is insane. The special includes ✔ Extra chashu ✔ Seasoned egg ✔ Spinach ✔ Extra nori That “nori” matters. Because—— Rice is free, with unlimited refills. Wrap in nori → Dip in broth → Land on white rice. An endless loop. You can change the flavor with the garlic, doubanjiang, and pepper on the table. Being able to customize it halfway through is the joy of iekei. The interior is mostly counter seating and feels clean. Easy to visit alone, with quick turnover. ✔ Days when you want a hearty meal ✔ Tired days when you need an energy boost ✔ People who want to go all-out on rice You can't go wrong. If you want to “fill your belly” in Hachioji, this place is a strong contender.
View on GoogleA wannabe iekei place. I went in because the popular restaurant nearby was crowded. I eat here occasionally, but don't expect much. I had the shoyu tonkotsu, but the flavor didn't feel very iekei. Rice is self-service and unlimited, but one bowl feels like enough.
