6-minute walk from the north exit of Nishi-Hachioji Station towards Takao A soba shop with a Japanese-style structure featuring a Sukiya-style gate in a residential area Take off your shoes to enter, then to a table seat in a room with wooden floors and high ceilings Urakasumi 750 yen Sobamiso 500 yen Ten-seiro 1850 yen First, the famous sake from Miyagi, "Urakasumi", served cold. Paired with this is "Sobamiso" grilled to be fragrant The texture of the soba kernels is an accent Ten-seiro consists of shrimp, maitake mushroom, pumpkin, eggplant, sweet potato, and green pepper tempura. They say the difference from the special tempura is the number of shrimp. The thinly cut soba goes down smoothly, and the strong chewiness is impressive, but the aroma of the soba is not felt. It's said to be 2:8 soba, but it feels like "3:7" Perhaps because it's matched with a lunch bowl, the salty sauce feels a bit light.
View on GoogleVisited with my wife on a Sunday after 1 pm. It was during the busy period, and the female staff in the shop were moving around busily. When being shown to a seat, I was given an explanation beforehand that "because it's busy, it will take a little time", and was shown to the tatami room right in front of the entrance. Today I ordered the "Soba + Mini Vegetable Kakiage Bowl Set (¥1680)" for lunch. It actually took about 20 minutes to be served, but I didn't feel like I had been waiting for too long, and when it was served, they politely said "sorry for making you wait", so I didn't feel stressed. The soba that came out was very distinctive, very thin. From a certain point of view, it looks like somen. But when I ate it, it was firm and the aroma of the soba could be felt. Also, the unique texture due to this thinness was interesting, and it was quite delicious. The set vegetable kakiage bowl had a sweet and salty sauce that soaked in well, it had a bit of a Hamamatsu Tenkin vibe, and this was also very delicious. Usually at other soba shops I often order a large portion, but here it was +500 yen so I skipped it this time. However, the amount that came out was about the same as a large portion at other shops, so in the end, not ordering the large portion was the right decision. Honestly, before coming, I saw low-star reviews on Google Maps and felt a bit anxious, but in reality, the food and service were good. There was also a paper posted in the shop encouraging people to post reviews, so maybe they are listening to those voices and making improvements. 1680 yen for lunch is not cheap, but if you consider the content and the experience, the price is acceptable. The satisfaction is much higher than going to a cheap shop where the service is mediocre. One thing, because it takes time when it's busy, it might be better to be careful if you don't have much time. It's a shop that makes me want to go again when I have time.
View on GoogleSecond visit, I had the mizore soba The soba eaten by dipping it into a hot broth containing plenty of vegetables such as eggplant, pumpkin, young corn, and grated daikon radish was exquisite ♡ Everyone, please try it at least once! Recommended!! Kuzukiri was also perfect for summer and very delicious The atmosphere in the shop is gentle and calm, very nice Thank you for the meal!
View on GoogleSoba shop in a residential area There is a parking lot in front of the shop The building is Japanese-style, and the interior is spacious with a counter, tables, and a tatami room in the back There are many menus and there are also advantageous lunch menus I ordered the mini tendon set Soba can be chosen between warm or seiro I chose the warm one, it also comes with a small bowl It tasted good with the bowl containing small shrimp and soba It also comes with soba water (sobayu), and this is the first time I've seen a wooden stick to stir the soba-yu, it's wonderful.
View on GoogleI went for lunch by car. There are about 10 parking spaces in front of the shop. What surprised me was that all seats are no-shoes allowed. Take off your shoes at the entrance. Inside the shop, there are table seats and tatami seats. I sat at a table seat and ordered the small shrimp tempura mini tendon set with cold soba. Many of the staff are young, but they are polite, and I can enjoy my meal comfortably. Although it's called a mini tendon, the bowl is larger than other shops and the volume is sufficient. The soba is also served in a large amount in a large basket, the volume is worth the 1600 yen price. The soba is cut very thinly, but it is supple and chewy, and the taste of the soba flour is strongly felt. The tendon sauce is excellent. It has high viscosity and sticks to the rice, and wherever you eat the tempura or rice, the taste of the sauce is felt. The sauce is very sweet and salty, but the thick taste is only felt at the beginning, and the taste fades away quickly, leaving only the savory taste. The small shrimp on top is round and fat, and if you eat it with the shiso leaf tempura, it is more satisfying than you can imagine. The cucumber pickles, shibazuke pickles, and cold tofu served as a side dish are also perfect as a flavor accent. Compared to other soba shops, the overall price is higher, but the taste and amount are worth it. Payment can be made by cash, credit card, and QR code.
