I visited out of interest in an art university's affiliated museum. I thought it would be an exhibition of the collection, but a special exhibition of an individual painter was being held, so my expectations were wrong in a good way. Many art exhibitions line up the titles of works and sometimes even excessive explanations, but this exhibition had almost none of that written information, which was also unexpected in a good way. I could become absorbed in each work one by one.

Second visit. It's only open during special exhibitions. If you come by bicycle, it's a short walk from the bicycle parking. 2023/4/27 First visit. 2022/9/9

Admission is free, and you can see various works of art. Currently (April 2022), works by Yoko Kuwasawa, founder of the Zokei university, and works by the university's assistants are on display.

I went to the Mari Yamazaki exhibition. It was so substantial I almost felt bad that it was free. The school bus is free too.

I think it's a fairly interesting museum. However, perhaps the most interesting thing is how the atmosphere changes completely because of the volunteer-like staff who have nothing whatsoever to do with the exhibits. If that's an intentional piece of contemporary art, I suppose the title would be “Cost Cutting” or “Contribution to the Local Community.” Students studying art at this school might do well to learn here that they may be impoverishing the very field in which they're supposed to be active in the future.
