One of my best meals having been to Japan 6 times already! It’s like favorite tonkatsu place no doubt. Everyone was very kind to me and accommodating even though I did not speak Japanese. Loved it!

We were on our way to hike Mt Takao as 2 adults and 2 children and decided to stop for an early lunch here. The portions are large. The family service is exceptional. We had both the Hiru and Rosa pork tonkatsu. The sushi side dishes were high quality and delicious and even had some unique smoked and soy sauce marinated firefly squids which were freshly acquired the day before. The sweet shrimp miso and sweet shrimp sashimi were some of the best we have had. Recommend the lunch combos. Standard beer and sake selection was great as well. Get there early as while the restaurant says they close at 3pm, they started turning away new guests at around 11:45am that Wednesday when the fresh food ran out. Great local family establishment with wonderful portions, great value and amazing service.

The 生姜焼き was next to perfect, the meats were well flavoured with hints of spiciness, sweetness and saltiness. The set comes with a small piece of tonkatsu, much appreciated. There are also numerous side dishes such as sashimi, octopus, etc.

Family run since 1955 using original recipes. HUGE portions! Kagoshima pork available lean or fatty. Perfectly prepared by the star Matriarch behind the counter. The decades of experience comes through in the great taste, crispy skin, tender meat, fat (if you choose) that melts. Perfect pre or post climb on nearby Mt Takao.

Found this little shop when I was lost at Takao station. Saw an adorable elderly lady sweeping before opening. I happens to be the first customer and the staff was very polite and patient. The Katsu was delicious 🙏
