First visit for lunch during the Obon holidays. There's a lunch menu at the entrance. I'd actually visited Taishoken next door several times, and remembered Daikoku having a lunchtime queue. This time I ordered the katsudon lunch for ¥900円, with a large serving free. After the order came in, they coated the pork in breadcrumbs and fried it. High hopes for this 😄 The salad and pickles arrived first; I ate the salad, and the katsudon arrived after 15 minutes. First, the katsu. Piping hot, crispy, and delicious 😋 The seasoning is light, but the egg, katsu, and rice come together perfectly 👌 The sauce really soaks the rice, which will divide preferences. At 900円 with a salad included, I was very satisfied. Set meals are offered at similar prices too, so I'd definitely consider coming back 😄 Thank you for the meal 😋

Lunch at Daikoku near the south exit of Hachioji Station. It has the atmosphere of an old-fashioned neighborhood tonkatsu shop. Some lunch options are under 1,000円, so you can enjoy tonkatsu affordably. The coating is crisp, and the meat was plenty for me as an older person; considering the price, it's good value. It didn't make such an impression that I'd say, “I absolutely want to go back!”, but it's just right for everyday dining. It seems like a good option when you want an affordable set meal near the station.

Visited with my wife for Saturday lunch. I've been several times alone in the evening, but this was actually my first lunch visit. I heard lunch gets busy, so we arrived at 11:45. There was only 1 customer ahead of us, but in about 10 minutes it was full! Clearly a popular place. I ordered the premium loin katsu (1600円), and my wife the premium fillet (1700円). I always choose the premium loin katsu set, which has just enough fat, a generous portion, and is very filling. I start with salt, and rock salt is provided too. As always, it was delicious and reasonably priced for what you get, though the meat's savory flavor seemed a little less pronounced… I'll visit again. Thank you for the meal.
