Finally visited, and the value for money really was amazing" 2021/8/30 I went at lunchtime on a Monday. Outside the shop, there was no "Open" or "Preparing" sign that's usually hung up, and no menu board. (Could it be a closed day?) …Nervously opening the door, I found it was open. The earlier customers were 6 people, all women; after me came one woman and one man who seemed to be a regular. By the way, I couldn't see a menu inside either, but since I'd done my homework, I ordered the "米粉麺セット・冷" (rice flour noodle set, cold). "米粉麺セット(冷)": 850 yen (incl. tax, same below) Taste 3.7 pts/CP 5.0 pts First I sipped the rice flour noodle soup. Perhaps bonito broth—a light soy sauce soup. It was closer to a noodle dipping sauce than a soup. Maybe the mirin is strong? It was slightly sweet with restrained soy sauce. Not bad. As for the noodles, since I was told they're made from rice flour, I imagined something translucent like pho, but they were completely different. If served without explanation, I'd never have doubted they were dried udon; they look almost exactly like udon. But there's zero of udon's chewy softness. Is rice flour really this firm? Rather than springiness, the firm bite is very strong. They're slippery and go down smoothly. A bit unusual, but quite tasty noodles. The toppings were shredded kombu and shimeji mushrooms. There was also a little wasabi on red bell pepper and a bit of chopped shiso. Now, the real highlight was not actually the rice flour noodles but the accompanying "side dishes." You get side dishes equivalent to 4 small bowls. Top left is "salad." It was topped with a refreshing Japanese-style dressing. The ingredients were jako, wakame, shiso, fresh vegetables, and mini tomatoes. Delicious! Top right is "warm vegetables and warm fish/meat." Scallops, okra, broccoli, shrimp, baby corn, ham, boiled egg, asari clams, and more. So elaborate—delicious! Bottom left is "nibitashi?" Shiitake, bell pepper, carrot, eggplant, zucchini. This was delicious too! Bottom right is "okowa." It contains corn, azuki beans, and black beans. Is the rice mixed with grains? Delicious! All these side dishes for 850 yen! Is it really OK for the value to be this good? The shop is run single-handedly by a refined-looking gentleman who seems to be in his early 60s. The interior is elegant and the food is first-rate. I think it's a wonderful shop.
View on GoogleAfter a long time, I visited かむか, the rice flour noodle shop, a little before 12. In the shop with 6 counter seats, there was 1 customer ahead of me. It's on a back alley one street toward Takao from Mizuki-dori, next to あずき, a Hachioji ramen shop. I've been visiting since its days in Yorozu-cho before it moved here. I ordered the recommended rice flour noodle set for 850 yen including tax. After waiting about 10 minutes, 4 colorful obanzai dishes and the rice flour noodles were served on a tray. Clockwise from the bottom right: sekihan rice ball, simmered shiitake and more, marinated tomato and cucumber, and simmered shrimp, squid, and konjac—4 colorful dishes, each carefully seasoned. Then the main: warm rice flour noodles topped with kombu, bell pepper, greens, and yuzu kosho. Such eye-pleasing colors for under 1000 yen are wonderful. I enjoyed the different colors and flavors—thank you for the delicious meal.
View on GoogleProvisionally. It's only been a short while since it reopened after relocating, so currently only one menu item is offered. The broth of the rice flour noodles has a slightly distinctive taste. Probably because of the ingredients put in with it. Also, the simmered dish contains shrimp and squid, so I think some people need to be careful. By the way, it properly fills you up, so the portion is fine even for guys.
View on GoogleI had the salad noodles. Over 10 kinds of vegetables, plus yuba and shrimp. It was so impressive I wondered how many ingredients they use, and the flavor was delicate cooking that never gets boring. A wonderful noodle dish. I'll come again.
View on GoogleAt first glance it seems a bit hard to walk into, but there's absolutely nothing to worry about! The food is flawless in both looks and taste! The food is delicate and wonderful! Plus, the master's stories of wandering the world are fun too! Charming! I'll come again! (^_^)v
