Absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked maruta age hirekatsu. ¥1300 was a decent price in my opinion. This place is clean. Like really really clean. Normally places like this have dust on the skirting boards and around the place. Here none. Nothing. Its an old building and inside does have old staying to it but it's so clean! Staff were friendly. Food was delivered quickly. No smoking. Very comfortable atmosphere. Literally no complaints. Loved it. Will be back.

View on GoogleI had lunch at 'れんが亭', along Route 16 in Hachioji (Katakura). It's a relaxing restaurant with a retro Showa-era atmosphere. This time, I ordered 'ヒレの丸太揚げ(1,400円)'. The generously cut pork tenderloin could be bitten through, but was a little dry, with a bold, meaty character that really made you feel, 'I'm eating meat!' The only slight disappointment was that the coating came off rather easily. The sauce was very thin—the kind I felt I hadn't encountered in a long time—and I wished it clung to the meat a little better. The miso soup in the set was rich in dashi and delicious too. I chose the 'medium portion' of rice, but as the menu's 300g description suggested, it was more than ample. Even eating it with the tonkatsu, I had a little rice left at the end, so you can get full without ordering a large portion (incidentally, large portions now cost extra). There is space for around 10 cars in front of the restaurant, making access by car convenient. PayPay was accepted for payment. The only other thing that bothered me was the slightly old restroom, but I think a 1,400円 lunch with this portion size and quality is quite good value.
View on GoogleOn a Saturday in June, with a typhoon approaching, the rain wasn't too heavy, so my wife and I visited レンガ亭 for lunch, a place I'd long been curious about. Perhaps because of the approaching typhoon, it was relatively quiet even though it was around 13. I ordered 上ロースカツミックス(1600円) with a medium portion of rice (free up to medium). I forgot to take a photo at the beginning, so the photo was taken after two bites of cabbage (sorry...). My wife had the ひれ丸太揚げ? set meal(1400円) with a small portion of rice. The 上ロースカツミックス comes with fried shrimp, and getting premium pork loin katsu at this price is very fair. It had just the right amount of fat and was delicious. True, it isn't a specialty pork brand, and the taste isn't exceptionally outstanding, but with this offering at this price, there's nothing to complain about. I'd definitely like to stop by again when I crave tonkatsu. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleAn old-fashioned tonkatsu shop I've been visiting since childhood. Returning after a long time, the unchanged interior warmed me with nostalgia. There are tatami and table seats, and you can pay with PayPay. The tonkatsu was delicious, of course, and so was the homemade dressing(´∀`)
