Do NOT even compare this ramen to the low grade junk available! I travel from Australia JUST for this ramen! THE best ever!

After seeing a friend's FB post, I stopped by on my way back from Mount Takao. 😚 All the seating is at the counter, but it didn't feel cramped, and I could eat comfortably. The soup carefully combines animal- and plant-based stocks, and I ended up drinking it all despite having high blood pressure. There was also a condiment called やみつきの素, seemingly a mixture of garlic and chili, which made changing the flavor fun. The staff's manner was cheerful and left a good impression. Next time I'd like to try the miso flavor and Hachioji ramen too.

らーめん熊八 About a 5-minute walk from Nishi-Hachioji Station, this is an easy neighborhood stop for both weekday lunch and dinner. At any time of day, it draws a wide range of customers, from students to working adults, with steady bustle. The signature 塩八王子らーめん has an outstanding balance of noodles and broth. The finish is clean, yet it has distinct layers of umami, so well executed that you find yourself unable to stop sipping. This time I ordered spicy tsukemen with bonito soy sauce. The sharp heat and rich seafood flavor combine in a way that becomes more satisfying with every bite. This restaurant's strength is that even regular visits bring new discoveries. A bowl that has me planning a return and wanting to try miso next time!!
