「つけ麺」風雲丸 on Yaen Road in Hachioji. It closed around spring 2014 and wasn't operating for a while, but when I passed by in late October 2014, it had reopened! The menu seems to have changed a little, but my personal top recommendation, 「石焼つけ」, was still there. 「石焼つけ」 is 「つけ麺」 served with a rich dipping broth in a stone pot like those used for Korean stone-pot bibimbap, arriving bubbling and boiling. I visited on a weekday, so I had the weekday-only lunch set, 石焼つけ+チャーめし:830円 (excluding tax). The noodles cost the same for regular (300g), large (400g), and extra-large (500g) portions. With so many universities nearby, that's a welcome service for students. There was also an Everest portion (1200g) for an additional 600円, so give it a try if you're confident in your stomach capacity. Another change is that there are now 2 parking spaces behind the restaurant. Having parking means you can enjoy your meal with peace of mind.
View on GoogleSimply delicious. The thick, rich soup, like Tenichi's, has a great seafood flavor. A perfect match for the thick, chewy noodles. Unfortunately, though, they're apparently closing at the end of this month. I'll keep visiting the Hiroshima Tatemachi location.
View on GoogleAs a chain restaurant, it delivers a certain standard of flavor, but doesn't go beyond ordinary rich-broth tsukemen. It needs another creative touch to beat the competition.
View on GoogleI went in without expectations, but it was quite tasty. The stone-pot tsukemen is also fun to look at.
View on GoogleThe stone pot is piping hot, and the soup is rich. The broth for diluting the soup also has a well-developed dashi flavor, so it's delicious right to the end.
