Being a former fort site, it's a place with excellent views. From the fork between the shrine route—where Princess Matsu's mountain-crossing staff is placed—and the Onnazaka route, it's 15 minutes via the shrine, and going down the Onnazaka route to Shingen-in takes under 15 minutes as well. This route has spots with better views. Also, from here you can reach Dairokuten in under 10 minutes, so I also recommend enjoying the panorama from its summit, which has even more open views. The path isn't steep and is easy to walk.
View on GoogleA fort that guarded the east side of Hachioji Castle; a hiking course continues from a temple called Shingen-in. From here you can also head toward Hachioji Castle. It's a place with a great view, ideal for watching enemy movements. No particular remains are left, but you can tell it was a small fort meant for surveillance.
