After several years, I visited "Kushizen" in Hachioji again. The owner and other customers are all locals, and the atmosphere is very homey. This kind of vibe is comfortable. The appetizer is fresh vegetable sticks. Starting at an izakaya with this is a bit rare, healthy & appetizing. All the skewers are excellent and cheap! Especially the liver, which had zero smell and was soft and amazing. The steak skewers were also tender, juicy, and filling, and I was surprised by how well the green pepper cheese rolls went together. Quail eggs are also perfect for alcohol. For drinks, as usual, I went from draft beer to sake. Both were ice cold and went perfectly with the skewers. And what impressed me was the horse sashimi. Lean meat and fat were mixed well, and the tataki-style finish was irresistibly delicious. Furthermore, the aroma of the seasonal grilled fava beans also won me over. The aroma when peeling them was great, and this is a dish you should definitely order. A restaurant that is well-loved by the locals. I will definitely visit again!
